This ShutterCal/Ten Bills tee is a Limited Edition shirt that is in support of the expansion of ShutterCal.com, an online web project where members are invited upload one image a day incorporating real life experiences and photo journalism to create their own personal calendars. The shirt features a design that was created by Jason McKoy from ShadowPlastic that embodies the essence of ShutterCal.com and also celebrates how cameras and photography have influenced our modern society.Â
The tee is available now from Ten Bills, for, unfortunately not 10 bills – it costs 20 bucks. Remember, though, that it’s a limited edition tee that will not be reprinted and proceeds go towards developing ShutterCal.com.Â
Here’s a fun tee that I stumbled upon on the French contest site, LaFraise. It’s called Le Pirate Moderne and it was designed by French designer Kalio. It’s the perfect tee for this wonderful Tuesday because today the new Green Day album drops! Awesome. I’ve been looking forward to the follow up to American Idiot since, well, what seems like a very long time. I’m excited to pick up my copy of 21st Century Breakdown, but the question is, will you be buying your copy or will follow the steps of the pirate below – arghhh!
This is a cool little video that I found on Vimeo and created by Pete Ashton. It’s Pete showing off his collection of 84 T-Shirts. Pretty neat! And for the record, I own just two of the 84 tees that he shows in the video, iSteamPhone and A Birth Day.
It’s Threadless review Monday! Episode #14 is called Invisible Awesomeness because Philip Tseng delivers with his newest design and my Threadless Pick of the Week - The Invisible Gentleman! If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out and vote for my TypeTees slogan submissions -- I’m submitting one every day until I get printed! Every vote counts so vote for a slogan and help me get printed.
The Exploded 128 tee is the newest tee of the popular exploded style to hit the Internets. It was designed by illustrator Garry Booth and feature, arguably, the most influential personal computer ever created -- the original Macintosh. Just to give you some perspective, when the Macintosh was unveiled on January 24, 1984, it featured an 8 MHz processor and 128 KB of RAM built in. Yes, 128 kilobytes. The street price for one of these cute beige beauties was $2495.00. Isn’t it amazing how far we’ve come in the past 25 years. As a side note, I actually own one of these guys. A teacher in high school had one lying around from his college years and I asked him if I could have it. And luckily for me, he passed it on.
The tee is available now for $18 and is printed on an American Apparel asphalt tee. And I have to say that the Apple fan in me is absolutely in love with this tee!
Also, check out the two videos below of the original unveiling famous 1984 ad and of Steve Jobs doing a demo of the Macintosh.
I’m not the biggest fan of rats (ok, not much of a rat fan at all), but even I have to say that this robot/concept rat from Benjamin Parry is unbelievably cool. If there was ever a candidate for a Terminator rat – this would be it! Wow.
If you dug this piece of rat art by Benjamin Parry then I think you might enjoy this tee. It’s called Pigeons Are Rats With Wings and it was designed by Chris Thornley. You can pick it up from Threadless for $18.Â
Here’s a T-Shirt that was created by Adam de la Mare in celebration of the recent Star Trek reboot. I did happen to catch the J.J. Abrams directed Star Trek on opening night and I have to admit that, despite my initial hesitation, I left the theater thoroughly captivated and wanting more! Abrams is an awesome storyteller.Â
The Evolution of Spock is essentially a tribute to our favorite Vulcan’s most recognizable characteristic – his pointy ears! You can pick up this tee from RedBubble for $25.94.Â
I covered Lowdtown Friends & Freaks recently in Co-Tee TV Episode  17, BUT, I just had to mention these Mooks that were designed by Lowdtown Friends & Freaks founder, Ray Masaki. Ray designed every aspect of these Mooks from the mold to the final packaging. Very neat! He also posted a couple of blogs showing the step by step process involved in making these cute Lowdtown characters (see blog posts here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3).Â
The Mooks are available for purchase in limited quantities. Only 6 of each of the white and black Mooks were made. They are available now for $25 but you can save 10% by using the coupon code “coty” at checkout.Â
If you enjoyed these Mooks then you might like this tee from Lowdtwon Friends & Freaks. It’s the Lowdtown logo tee and it features the Mouthcan (the same one that graces the Mook packaging). It’s a one color designed printed on an American Apparel tee and is available now for $21.99. And if you watched Episode 17 then you already know the Ray pumps out quality tees that are tagless and have embroidered seam tags – awesome! And remember, save 10% by using the coupon code “coty”.Â
I spotted this tee over at Direct Daily, a blog about direct marketing and engaging advertising. It was a T-Shirt that was passed out to interns at the prestigious New York based advertising agency JWT. The shirt featured silkscreened sweet stains and dirt and were given out at the beginning of the internship. It served as an eye opener to the interns as to how hard they were expected to work. It kind of reminds me of college hazing, but hey, I like it!
“JWT New York had a grueling 10-week summer internship for creatives. They were given daily projects and made to work long hours and weekends. To prepare them for the intense experience, they were given t-shirts with silkscreen-printed sweat stains and rips that resembled whip marks. “No interns were actualy harmed. Honest.”
Glenn Jones consistently pumps out awesome tee and this one is no different. This one is called Good v. Evil and is an obvious homage to Star Wars. It’s printed on an asphalt American Apparel tee and is available now for $19.95.
“The annual Good v Evil game is watched throughout the universe. Who will prevail when opposites collide? There’s personal battles all over the park and it’s hard to separate them as the force is strong! This design attracted a huge amount of votes in a short time so it was time to print!” – Glenn Jones
