Power of Peace by Skilla Fashion

Power of Peace is the newest tee from Skilla Fashion and I really like it! The shirts, which are available now and printed on American Apparel blanks, feature the universally recognized peace sign, in hand and symbol form. The shirts also feature the Skilla Fashion logo on the upper back of the shirt for an added touch.

Skilla Fashion recently sent over this tee to me and I will be reviewing this shirt in an upcoming episode of Co-Tee TV. In the meantime, you guys should definitely check it out! Some sizes are already sold out like small in both mens and womens sizes. They also released a coupon of new belts as well. Why not pick one up to match your new shirt? The shirt is priced at $20 and you can pick up the Music For All belt (see below) for just $12.50.

Why Are You Waving? Run!

The other day I caught Jurassic Park on TNT and I thought about how far we’ve come, in terms of CGI and special effects. I remember when I first saw Jurassic Park in the theaters, I was blown away. The dinosaurs looked so real (of course, we really don’t know how they really looked). It’s been years since I last watched the first installment of the Jurassic Park series, and after all this time, the dinosaurs looked so mechanical to me. Nonetheless, a great popcorn flick!

This shirt from SnorgTees reminded me of Jurassic Park. Little tourist man waving at cute dinosaur. Cute carnivorous dinosaur.

You can pick up Why Are You Waving from Snorg Tees for $18.95.

Red Riding Hood

I’m typically very critical when it comes to all-over-prints. I’m just not a big fan of them. But this tee by shantyshawn and available at Design By Humans is the exception to that rule. I actually really dig it and love how the red pops against the black and white backdrop. It’s available now for purchase for a cool $25.

Although the earliest known print of this story originates from 17th century French folklore, and was included in the 1697 collection, Tales of Mother Goose by Charles Perrault, it’s the Brothers Grimm version that we have come to know and love. You see, in Perrault’s version, there is no happy ending. The wolf eats both little red riding hood and her grandmother and there is no happy ending. In the Brothers Grimm version, a hunter saves little red riding and her grandmother and then drowns the wolf. Such dark undertones for a child’s story, don’t you think?

Johnny Cupcakes Presents: THE GOONIES!

HEY YOU GUYYYYYSSSSSSSS!!

Growing up, Goonies was one of my absolute favorite movies, alongside other 80′s classics like The Karate Kid and Princess Bride. I have to say that Mr. Cupcakes and myself have very similar tastes in movies. Every single one of these screenings he has done (TMNT, Back To The Future, Karate Kid) have been of movies I grew up watching.

For you lucky bastards in the Boston area, you can check out The Johnny Cupcakes screening of The Goonies on Saturday July 18th at 11:55pm (midnight) at The Coolidge Corner Theatre on 290 Harvard Street – Brookline, MA. If I could be there, trust me, I’d be there! The limited edition Goonies inspired Johnny Cupcakes tee will be on sale at the screening. No word yet on when you’ll be able to pick up the shirt online!

Salvation Denied by SplitReason

I’ve always been a fan of the Terminator movie and so when I saw this tee from Salvation Denied from SplitReason.com I got excited. The name of the shirt itself is pretty epic and a play on the most recent Terminator flick, Terminator Salvation. And by the way, Salvation was a gazillion times better than Rise of the Machines. I’m just sayin’. The lightening bolts on the skull add a nice touch to the exoskeleton! I wonder if my skull has an lightening bolts inscribed? Salvation Denied is available now from SplitReason.com for $18.95.

Race Advantage by Glennz Tees

The newest tee from one of my favorite indie tee designers was released with perfect timing. Man on a racing bicycle and decked out in a yellow suit. I wonder who that guy is? It’s obviously Lance Armstrong, who, incidentally is back and racing (as I type) in the Tour de France. He’s currently in third place, which is an astonishing feat in itself since he’s been away from the sport for more than 3 years! Maybe a finger pointing extraterristial is what needs to give him that extra boost! Race Advantage is available now from Glennz Tees and costs just $19.95.

Coty’s Thoughts:

Mona Lisa SLIME by Zipperking and available at Design By Humans. Pros: I absolutely love the design on this shirt, that  slug pops like crazy! Plus, I am a sucker for the Mona Lisa! The Design By Humans shirt is soft, super soft! And I love the fit, it’s a comfortable loose and it’s not too short like the Threadless branded shirts. It’s tagless for itch free comfort, which is always a plus! Beautiful packaging, one of the best packages I’ve seen so far! Cons: The print itself is not the softest I’ve felt but I’m sure it’ll get softer after the initial wash. Other than that I absolutely adore this shirt. I’ll definitely be ordering from Design By Humans again.  Price: $24

Meek Cloud by Matt Joyce for Applied Clothing and available at Brand Neusense. Pros: The product itself is very well put together. The shirt features customs cut and sew elements with tags on the lower right seam and left arm sleeve seam. It’s not tagless but it does have a custom neck tag. The shirt is a bit thicker compared to American Apparel or Alstyle blanks. The shirt is produced from fair trade cotton. Brand Neusense offers international shipping and free shipping for all orders placed in the UK. Cons: The neck hole is a bit smaller than what I am used to. It is a bit baggier and looser than most shirts I review.  Price: £25.00.

More Sleep Please by Collective Edition

I definitely need more sleep, but, don’t we all? Can I share a secret? I love sleep! Sleep is the natural energizer. Ironically, I am writing about this shirt when, theoretically, I should be sleeping! Theoretically because it’s about 11:30 pm and I need to wake up at around 6 am tomorrow! So much for 8 hours of required sleep!

More Sleep Please is available for sale at Collective Edition. You need to contact the Collective Edition crew via email (there’s a mail order request button) and let them know you want one!
