Peace is such a great thing. And this shirt, appropriately named Peace, is simply a positive T-Shirt and filled with good karma. The best part is that it’s only $10 at Esau Apparel. It’s printed on a slim-fit fashion tee so if you’re on the chunky side you might want to order a size up.
Validus Apparel recently released their newest tees and I’m shocked it took me this long to find out! Shocked because they are hot! Each of the three new tees are printed on American Apparel blanks and are available for $18. My favorite has got to be Dismembered Bird, I simply love the concept and the colors work so well with one another. Ironically, you can find the dismembered head from the Dismembered Bird tee on the other new shirt, Fresh Collage. I love it!
Social Media Campaign for DBH 10K: Mecha Labaw is a guest post written by Blake from You Design It where they offer custom t-shirt printing. He’s a t-shirt fanatic that wants to rid the world of suits, one tee at a time.
With in the recent announcement of the Design By Humans top 10 finalists in the 10K contest, I thought it would be interesting to share with you one of the finalists’ social media campaigns to win. Talk about hustle, this artist has earned a spot in the top 10 for both his high quality artwork and strategic use of the Internet’s resources to gain votes.
I am speaking about Christian San Jose and his design named Mecha Labaw. Here is a look at it in case you haven’t seen it yet:
When I was first introduced to this design, ironically it was not at Design By Humans. It was actually in my Google Feed Reader via a user generated blog named Design You Trust. Christian had uploaded his design to Design You Trust and used their platform to broadcast to the design community. This instantly put his design in front of thousands of like-minded designers that could potentially go to DBH to vote on his design.
Of course, he included the link to his design page on DBH, but he also went one huge step further. He actually created a website for his design under the same name – Mecha Labaw. That is definitely going above and beyond. He then incentivized votes by giving the chance to win five DBH shirts if you post the provided HTML snippet to include his design on one of your own webpages/blog/profile.
This kind of campaign is very innovative and could potentially create a whole new trend. The competition has just been stepped up a notch thanks to Christian San Jose. Let’s see just how far this goes in the upcoming weeks as the winner is selected.

I’m just about ready to leave my house to catch my flight to Seattle! I couldn’t resist doing a quick video of the flyaway shirt I chose to wear. It’s from the guys over at the Plaid Design Agency. They sent me over this tee after I blogged about their Plaid Nation 2009 cross country tour. I love it!
So, as a fair warning, I’ll be gone till next Wednesday but don’t worry I will still be doing posts on the blog. I have some already prepared but I will most likely be doing video blogs of my travels. Hopefully I’ll also be able to meet up with the guys behind Tilteed and Found Item Clothing while I am in Portland! So keep an eye out for those!
Ok, I couldn’t help myself. I had to do an “epic list” post of my own. I haven’t attempted one before and it seems that people like them, so, why not? The hard part was figuring out a list topic that was fun enough for me to do because, as I had predicted, this would take forever to complete! I decided to tackle SCIENCE! And why not, I’m a dork when it comes to science stuff. I love science! Science is awesome. Science is my religion. And so if you’ve been hunting high and low in search of the perfect science infused T-Shirt, well, I’ve got a hundred (plus one) for you to choose from.
The race to the finish line for the Design By Humans 10K Contest is getting interesting! Three of my top 5 favorites are still in it to win it! Interestingly enough, AJ Dimarucot aka CollisionTheory is still in the mix of things. Will this seasoned pro take the top prize 2 years in a row?
And here are three of my top 5 picks that are still in the contest!
Our good friends over at Desired Hearts (read the interview I did with them a while back) is getting set to release a new line of Tees! They recently gave a sneak peak of the new line during the unveiling of the new Desired Hearts website. The new site looks solid but what I am most excited to see is the new line of tees, which were designed by Benny Gold.
“Welcome to the new best thing in your life. Or, what some would call our new site. We decided to do things differently this go ’round. No strategy. Just passion. And a whole lotta street. All real. FYI, the online store is dropping first thing in August with new shirts designed by Benny Gold. Nab one or two. We know, they’re rad as hell. Stay tuned for more. It’s go time!” -Desired Hearts
The newest tee from Shirts Taste Good is too adorable to pass up! Be forewarned, the accompanying video of two otters floating around at the Vancouver Aquarium oozes cuteness and you will unleash an “awwwww” at some point during the viewing of the video -- if not then you’re not human.
You can pick up Otters Holding Hands from Shirts Taste Good for the cheap price of $14.95 this week, after that it’s $17.95.
Are you into vampires? If so I’ve got just the shirt for you. It’s called Vampire Meets The Hound and it’s by a brand that I just discovered called Young Lovers. You’ve got to love the fangs and the throwback 80′s look. No fancy colors but I think the black and white fits this shirt just fine. All Young Lovers tees are printed in 100 print runs so if you like Vampire Meet The Hound I suggest you pick one up now. It’s a little pricey, but hey, you can’t put a price on fashion! This shirt will set you back $59 AUD or $38 US.
Here’s a fun little shirt from the guys over at Pyknic Clothing. It’s a Pyknic and Farewell collaboration tee! They’re calling it The Kidz Club Snack Pack because each order comes with the limited edition shirt and the new full length CD from Farewell, Run It Up The Flagpole. You can pick up this item from Pyknic Clothing for $25.
