Pyknic Clothing just unleashed upon the world their Winter 2009 line and my oh my what a release it is. Over 25 new products for both men and women. They’ve got standard tees, totes, v-necks, sweaters and baseball tees. It also looks like they are focusing a bit more on branding now, with a bunch of their shirts featuring just the forks and basket logo ala Johnny Cupcakes crossbones and cupcakes logo tees. The one thing that they are doing differently from Mr. Cupcakes is that they have been invading the malls for teen consumption – Pyknic Clothing is available at Pacsun stores nationwide.
Our friends over at Crazy Go Lucky just released a new tee and it’s a bloody one. A bloody pandy to be exact. Panda Assassin is the newest character addition to the Crazy Go Lucky line. The design is printed on a Mint 100% Cotton Jersey tee and is available for purchase for $20. Head on over to the Crazy Go Lucky website and get the lowdown on the Panda Assassin. Here’s a snippet of his bio:
“Panda is a panda trained by the government under it’s Counter Terrorist Agency to be a skilled and deadly government operative. While the CTA could have created an android or trained a human, they chose a panda just because they thought it was cool at the time. They trained panda in marksmanship, combat, strategy, endurance, and agility. The training was so intense that it caused panda to bleed from the eyes and mouth….”
I’ve mentioned Skilla Fashion on the site before, in fact, you can watch a video review that I did for the Skilla Power of Peace tee. Skilla Fashion just released a new cardigan and I thought it was worth sharing. I’ve noticed that more indie brands have been incorporating cardigans into their line. I think that the Skilla logo works perfectly on the cardigan, giving it a classy and dignified look.
The Skilla Cardigan features a classic cardigan cut, fits slim with V-neck opening, 6-button closure and a red & white Skilla logo print.
I don’t think words could even give this item justice. Seriously. So I’m going to keep the word count to a minimum so you can enjoy the photos and video. It’s a Nike branded T-Shirt Gun and no, it’s not a concept piece. It’s an actual product that was sold on the Nike website for a cool $1500 (currently sold out).
Hello is a collaboration between California based skateboarder Buddy Carr and New York based graphic designer Antonio Carusone. They worked to produce both a Skateboard and matching T-Shirt. I Â care about the T-Shirt. I actually love this T-Shirt. I find it awesome that they included the all encompassing Hawaiian word, Aloha. The type is perfect. I ordered the black tee.
Hello. Its such an important word. They say first impressions mean a lot. A smile paired with a friendly hello often makes for a good first impression. You can buy the Hello T-Shirt by Buddy Carr and Antonio Carusone for $22. The deck is available for $160.
Mr. Cupcakes just released his November batch of tees and despite the bunch of Turkey/Thanksgiving related shirts (of which I have no interest in) I am quite excited by the re-relase and new colorway for his First Date design. I love that design and although I wasn’t able to pick it up the first time around I assure you that I’ll be quick to act on this one.
The rest of the batch, were a bit meh for me. The exception being Headdress, love the front design on that one but am really annoyed by the HUGE LIMITED EDITION text on the back of the tee. Do I need to tell the world that my T-Shirt is limited edition? Really? I thought just by having something that said Johnny Cupcakes or had the cupcake and crossbones was enough of a limited edition statement in itself.
A few hours ago I picked up the new Weezer album, Raditude. In fact I am enjoying it as I type this very blog. But to my dismay, I find out after the fact that I COULD have picked up the weezer album from their official website packaged with an official Weezer Snuggie. I feel like I got jipped. I feel like I should have gotten that blue warm and fuzzy Weezer Snuggie.
Then again, I live in Hawaii. What would I do with a Snuggie! But still, how amazingly and dorkingly cool is that – you can actually buy the new Weezer album with a Weezer Snuggie ($30). Seriously, that is amazeballs.
The only saving grace is that I picked up the new album for just $3.99 from Amazon DRM free. And having done one listen through of the album, I can say that it is worth the price of the 4 bones paid and then some. It’s fun, energetic and smart. Pick up your copy of Weezer’s Raditude from Amazon now for $3.99.
So I picked up How I Met Your Mother: Season Four over the weekend and was able to watch two episodes yesterday and am so stoked because I almost forgot how incredibly “legen … wait for it … dary” this comedy series is. If you have not seen an episode of How I Met Your Mother then do yourself a favor and pick up the DVD or Netflix it, its hilarious.
I got through two episodes yesterday while I was nursing a cold and in the episode “The Best Burger in New York”, Barney (played by Neil Patrick Harris) pimps out Goliath National Bank (a fictional bank that his company purchased) while a jobless Marshall (played by Jason Segel) searches for the mystical best burger in New York. I thought I’d look up some How I met Your Mother tees and lo and behold, I find this tee from 80’s Tees, a Goliath National Bank shirt. Barney Stinson would be proud.
Are any of  you How I Met Your Mother fans? Let me know!
I have to say that I am really enjoying the latest offering from Mr. Hip Hop himself, Jay-Z. This Adapt tee from Karmaloop features the namesake of his latest single, Empire State of Mind. This song has been seeing heavy rotation on US radio stations. But if I am being honest, my favorite track off of the new album (The blueprint 3) is a remake of Alphaville’s “Forever Youngâ€Â featuring Mr. Hudson.
And you’ve got to see this video of Jigga and Alicia Keys singing Empire State of Mind during Game 2 of the 2009 World Series.
