Already OK: Haiti Relief Shirt by Yellow Black & White

It’s been really depressing watching and reading the news this past week, especially with all of the Haiti coverage. Seeing all those people lose everything that they had and have known is truly heartbreaking. And that’s why I’ll continue to blog about these Haiti relief  T-Shirts that continue to be released and whose profits go to help those suffering in Haiti.

The latest Haiti relief shirt comes to use from Yellow Black & White. The shirt is called “Tout Bagay Deja Byen.” I had no idea what that meant, until I took a peak at the product description. After learning its meaning, I thought that it was the perfect phrase for such a sad time. The tee is available in black and red colorways and is on presale for $25 with 100% of the proceeds going to Haitian. The printing for this project was donated by Print My Goods.

“We have been able to visit Haiti a couple times in the past. This past summer I actually spent a week and a half there, about 100 miles outside of Port-Au-Prince. While we were there we saw a sign with these words on it “Tout Bagay Deja Byen.” In english this phrase would be translated as “All things are already good” or “Everything is already OK.” It was explained that this was a statement that Haitians use as a means of spreading hope. To us this statement best represents what we have experienced for ourselves and we have learned about the Haitian people in the last few days. They are incredibly strong and hopeful.”

Loose Talk Can Cost Lives

Loose Talk comes to us from Spindustry Clothing. You remember them, right? I reviewed them a while back on Co-Tee TV Episode #45. You might remember that they do super limited releases for their custom made T-Shirts. Well, they are back with another “secret” release and this time the shirts were limited to a print run of just 12. Crazy. So my only suggestion for you is that if you dig this shirt then buy it as fast as you can.

The shirt is printed on an Alstyle tee and features World War II Artwork by Howard Scott. It very much reminds me of those political, propaganda posters during the war. Depending on your views, this tee can be a powerful statement shirt. It’s available now for $14.99 in very limited quantities.

Lowdtown Friends & Freaks Winter 2010 Release

Our friend Ray Masaki, lead designer of Lowdtown Friends & Freaks has just dropped his latest line of products from his lifestyle brand. The winter 2010 release from Lowdtown Friends & Freaks feature two new crewnecks in two different colorways, a new T-Shirt and a stunning black leather wallet.

One of the crewnecks features a brand new Lowdtown character, the naked Cleanbean, while the other crew neck features the familiar Insatiable Mouth. Both crewnecks are priced at $30 and can be had in either charcoal or heather gray colors. The lone tee in the Winter 2010 release features Unikid, the little badass of the Lowdtown crew. This shirt was done as a collaboration with illustrator, Attila, of Peachbeach and is available now for $20. If you do decide to buy something (which I thing you should) then be sure to use the coupon code “coty” at checkout for an additional 10% off your entire order!

Incidentally, this is also the one-year anniversary of Lowdtown Friends & Freaks! Congratulations, Ray! And I should also note that Ray designed the upcoming official T-Shirt from Andy of Hide Your Arms, who ,celebrated the 4th anniversary of his site yesterday. That tee should be released any day now so be sure to be on the lookout for that!

Many Hands Make The Load Lighter – Haiti Relief

The Haiti Relief tees continue to roll in, the newest coming from possibly the most dominate T-Shirt brand on the Internet – Threadless. Many Hands Make The Load Lighter is a shirt that was designed by the duo Thomas De Santis and Ivan Tarrazo Sanchez. The inspiration for the shirt De Santis says was”“Amazing Haitian street art. It provides a true sense of daily life and community through the use of gorgeous colors.”

“We reached out to Haiti’s neighbors and asked two of our designers from the Dominican Republic to design this tee, Thomas De Santis and Ivan Tarrazo Sanchez. They’ve declined their printing award and are instead giving it to the Red Cross. Shirts Our Business, one of our printers, has donated their printing time and ink. And everyone here has been rallying to get this tee out to retain focus on the relief effort. We hope you too, will send this along to your friends and fams to show your support!”

For only $10 you can pick up Many Hands Make The Load Lighter with 100% of the proceeds (up to $100,000) will be donated to the Red Cross to aid relief efforts inHaiti.

New Additions from Johnny Cupcakes

Johnny Cupcakes added a few new pieces to their collection over the weekend. Of particular interest to me is the new Fresh Deliveries tee. The simple, white print on black is yet another one of those throwback Johnny Cupcakes pieces that look as if they were conceived by a designer from the current day who took a time machine back to the 1950’s. I’m With Coco. Whose Side Are You On? 6 Conan T-Shirts!

This whole NBC vs. Conan O’brien vs. Jay Leno debacle has got me enthralled with network television for the first time in, well, quite a while. I’ve been watching the late night shows just to listen to the quicks jabs that they’ve been taking at each other. I admit that I’m a bit sad to see Conan O’brien leave the peacock station. NBC, 7 months really wasn’t enough time for him to find his audience. In any case, all of this late night drama has led to an amazing I’m With CoCo campaign. Here are 6 T-Shirts that you can choose from to show your support for the Conan O’brien / Team Coco / I’m With Coco cause.

And here’s something extra, someone made a song in support of Team Coco. Check out I’m With Coco by Dustin Krein:

When Geek-ness Goes Retro…

If I were still doing Coty Loves Threadless I would bet that When Geek-ness Goess Retro by Riccardo Bucchioni would be a Threadless Pick of the Week. It’s such a cool shirt and it reminds me of those mail order ads that I’d find scattered in old school comic books back in the day. I remember always seeing ads for X-Ray glasses and I remember never getting them (what’s an 8-year-old kid to do with no checkbook). As an adult (with a checkbook on hand), maybe I should invest in a pair of vintage X-Ray glasses and see once and for all if they really work. Hmmmm…..

TypeTees Slogan-A-Day Experiment Week 2

Every day I come up with a new witty Threadless TypeTees Slogan in hopes of earning a Threadless Alumni Club Medal of Honor. At the end of every week I post a round up of that weeks slogans here on my blog. What can you do to help the cause? Vote! Just click on a slogan (preferably all of them) and then vote by click “I’d Wear It!” – it’s that simple! If you want to see and vote for all of my slogans then just click here or on that photo of me with the Rockband guitar. Vote for me and I will make you an awesome grilled cheese sandwich if ever we meet in real life.

TypeTees Slogan-A-Day Experiment

Week 2 (January 8 2010 to January 14 2010):

Permanent markers: A drunk man’s worst enemy.

Flipping through Facebook I noticed an album of a drunk friend who had unfortunately passed out while his friends were in the possession of permanent markers. Such a shame!

Multi-touch reinvented the way I twiddle my thumbs.

Here’s a slogan for all of you iPhone using people. Now your twiddling thumbs have a purpose – swipe, pinch, zoom like never before!

Even Bigfoot knows that the Abominable Snowman doesn’t exist.

It’s only logical that the Abominable Snowman doesn’t exist, especially if Bigfoot says so. [NOTE: If you voted on this slogan on the past please vote again using this link, the older version had a typo :( a big boo boo for any TypeTees submission.]

I’d sing my heart out but I think that would be kinda painful.

So, American Idol just started and I thought, gee, if I was on American Idol I was definitely give it my all. But to sing my heart out? Come on, that’s a little too much of me to give!

All of my wisdom is tucked away in the corners of my mouth.

So I came up with this logo as I was blogging a little bit. It just popped in my head. I liked it and so it’s todays slogan! This slogan makes me sad because I had my wisdom teeth pulled out, all 4 of em, when I was 16!

There’s no I in TEAM but T, E, A, and M are pretty darn good.

I’m not sure how I came up with this slogan, but I think, I think, that it came to me today when I heard someone on the radio say the famous line, There’s No I In Team. Although there’s no I, I think that the other letters in TEAM are not too shabby. I myself am a fan of T and A. :)

Actually, microphones aren’t small and can’t even make any calls.

Don’t you think the word microphone is a misnomer? I think so. First of all, they aren’t even micro at the very least nor do they allow you to dial out! I want a refund.

Pyrotechnic Display at Celebrations

Complicated name, I know, but you can call them P.D.A.C. for short! Them would be in reference to Amber Vittoria, a college student from Boston with a flare for light. Light? Yeah, as in light from fireworks, sparklers, flashlights. Without light, our world would be one boring and place to live in. P.D.A.C is all about photographing light and then deconstructing it to see the wonderful, exclusive designs that can be extracted from it.

Their first shirt is based off of a photograph of a firework, the cropping revealed the beauty of not only the light’s shape the the shape of the absence of light surrounding it. I think it looks stunning. The shirt is available for purchase as a unisex V-neck and is priced at $35.

P.D.A.C. currently has just this shirt available for sale, but, I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us.
