Mr. Tee + I Pity The Font

This shirt received a lot of hype a few weeks back and was well received on a bunch of T-Shirt and non T-Shirt blogs. If you can’t already tell, the shirt is made up of, well, more shirts. The design is simply a bunch of T-Shirts strategically arranged in the form of Mr. T’s head, hence the name, Mr. Tee. Creative? Very. Clever? Absolutely.

Mr. Tee is printed on a light blue Fine Jersey tee and is available now for $20 at Threadless.

If you dug Mr. Tee by Phil Jones and you’re in the voting spirit then be sure to check out this new A-Team inspired design by Bunny Dojo that is up for voting at Threadless. The design is aptly titled I Pity The Font.

“If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them. Envisioned with shimmer for the gold elements.”

Ouroboros Box Set by Oliver Hibert X LTD Tee

The Ouroboros Box Set is a nice little collaborative project between artist Oliver Hibert and LTD Tee. The Oliver Hibert Ouroboros box set includes:

  • High quality, screen printed t-shirt
  • 8” x 10” art print
  • Custom screen printed box
  • Artist bio on both the box and neck label
  • Sticker pack

Like all LTD Tees, this shirt is available only for a limited time. You can pick this shirt up from now until June 6. In fact, to help you out, there’s a little ticker at the top of the LTD website that lets you know how much time you have left to pick up this box set. As for the design, it’s a 4 color print featuring what looks like a recursive snake eating itself. Neat! The box set is reasonably priced at $24.99, so go grab one now!

“Oliver Hibert describes his art as an escape from the mundane, influenced, at times heavily by the music, colors and imagery of the psychedelic 60’s era. Hibert’s iconic style transcends time as it nods to the past, while being so contemporized that it speaks to the future. The art is smothered with busy patterns, alluring figures, super bright colors and plenty of exclamation marks.”

East Vs. West

The Phoenix Suns had a chance. They blew it. And like so many times before, the 2010 NBA Finals will be a matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. This will be the 12th time that the two teams will have met in the Finals since first meeting in 1959. In the NBA, the idea of East vs. West is the Boston Celtics vs. the Los Angeles Lakers, and Homage Clothing knows this. Their vintage East Vs. West design feature the colors of the two most decorated and storied teams in NBA history.

East vs. West is available now from Homage Clothing for $24.

Threadless News:

Renaissance Rocks by Enkel Dika gets my nod as this weeks Threadless Pick of the Week! If you haven’t checked out the new iPod Touch collaborative cases by Threadless and Griffin Technology then be sure to head over and take a peek, they have four new designs including one of my favorite – The Gaming Revolution.

Vaughn de Heart

I’ll start off by saying that these designs from Vaughn de Heart are true T-Shirt finds. I love the simple, yet effective typography of the three designs featured below. The brand was started by Walla Walla University graduate, RoyLyn Le’Vaughan Palmer-Coleman, and is the product of coincidence and possibly fate. You can read more about his story at the Vaughn de Heart blog.

HEART features bold white type on a Royal Blue T-Shirt. If you’ve got heart, this is the T-Shirt to get. The “Heart” in Vaughn de Heart is in reference to the fact that Palmer-Coleman put 100% of his own heart into starting this brand. Les gens courageux is French for “The Fearless Ones.” This shirt reflects the fearlessness that Palmer-Coleman had to have in order to start his own clothing band. He had a lot of fear going into this, but I think he has done an excellent job so far.

The initial collection at Vaughn de Heart features 5 distinct T-Shirts and 1 signature drawstring bag. The T-Shirts are priced from $22 to $24 and feature both crew neck and v-neck tees. Hopefully a hands on review of one of these signature tees will be coming soon!

UPDATE: Use the coupon code “courage” at checkout for an additional 25% off your entire order!

Exploded Andy

Regular readers of this blog know that I am a diehard Apple fan. Having said that, it hurts me just a little bit to post this Exploded Andy T-Shirt by the people who have brought us the other exploded classics. The latest exploded tee features that famous little green robot that populates … Android based phones. I know that there are a few of you Android users that read this blog and so this, my friends, is dedicated to you!

Exploded Andy was designed by Garry Booth and is available now at ExplodedAndy.com for $19. And if you’re so inclined, you can also pick up this design in poster form.

PS: I’m not exactly sure of the origin of the “Andy” name for the little green Android robot. I tried googling information on the name of the Android robot and nothing regarding Andy came up. Anyone have any idea about this Andy name? If I had to guess, it is in reference to Android co-founder, Andy Rubin. Thoughts?

I Hate Clowns

You hear of people that really detest clowns and who are absolutely mortified by them. These are usually one of those oddball characters you see at the movies or on a TV sitcom. I actually have a friend that is totally terrified of them. He hates clowns. He hates them with such a passion. I can’t remember the specifics, but I believe that this fear and hatred towards clowns stem from an early childhood experience. In any case, I think I’ve found the perfect Christmas present for him.

I Hate Clowns delivers this Experimental Jetset parody tee featuring the names of some of the most famous clowns in the history of the clowning profession. Krusty, Homey, Ronald, Shakes, and Pennywise are all accounted for. Trust me, if you know someone that has an aversion to all things clown related, this is the perfect gift to get them!

This Experimental Jetset parody tee is printed on a black American Apparel blank and is available now from I Hate Clowns for $19.

Introducing The iTee

First of all, no, this is not a joke product. It is a 100% real bonafide product that is available for sale. And it’s called the iTee. That’s right, the iTee. The iTee comes in either white or black and is 100% designed and made in Australia. What sets the iTee apart from other T-Shirts? Well, it’s constructed in such a way that it provides a pouch for you to safely house your iPad in. That’s right, you too can be like Kangaroo-like.

The iTee features reinforced padded pouches which are comfortable and almost invisible. The iTee was developed with the digital lifestyle of Apple lovers in mind.

Now I know you’re dying to know how much the iTee will cost you. The iTee is priced at $44.96 AUD (approximately $37 US) and is available now from iClothing.

Again, this is a real product.

4 New Threadless X Griffin iPod Touch Cases

Threadless and Griffin have just released 4 new iPod Touch Cases, featuring 4 classic Threadless designs. The Gaming Revolution by Sean Mort is one of my favorite Threadless designs – ever. Space Needs Color by Alvaro Arteaga Sabaini looks absolutely stunning as an iPhone case design. Put The Needle On The Record was never a Threadless favorite of mine (maybe because of the raised ink used on the tee), but as an iPhone Case design, it just works.

Unlike previous Threadless X Griffin cases, the new batch is made specifically for the iPod Touch. If I had to guess as to why this is case, I would say that it has something to do with the rumors of a new iPhone being released sometime in early June.

The cases are available now from Griffin Technology for $34.99 a piece. Each of the T-Shirts are also available from Threadless for $18 (Space Needle is priced at $20).

Spun Dry

Spun Dry is another goofy design from one of my favorite T-Shirt designers, Glenn Jones. But, besides the actual T-Shirt, what do you think of those custom Spidey whitey tighties! What geek wouldn’t want to have Spider-Man’s logo covering his crotch. OK, maybe that would be just a small proportion of geeks – but still.

If you either 1. love Spider-Man, or 2. secretly want a pair of Spidey branded whitey tighties, then head on over to Glennz Tees to pick up Spun Dry for $19.95.
