Homage To Steve Jobs: Stay Hungry Stay Foolish

As a longtime MacAddict and Apple enthusiast, I really don’t need to explain why I absolutely love this T-Shirt.

Stay Hungry Stay Foolish is available now from Homage for $28.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Premium Leather Goods from Ugmonk

These premium leather items from Ugmonk look amazing. Ugmonk designer Jeff Sheldon does excellent job at paying such close attention to detail. Seriously sexy stuff. I actually wish that the premium leather case was tailored to fit on a Moleskine Notebooks. I’d love that. Maybe a future product?

Leather Bi-Fold Wallet: This uniquely designed bi-fold wallet is handcrafted from a single piece of leather which can be easily flattened for tanning and oiling. The raw leather starts out a light color and will age, darkening as it absorbs the oils from your hands and is exposed to the sun. The more you use it, the better it looks. Price: $84

Ugmonk Leather Card Case: Let’s face it. Most people carry around a lot of excess in their wallets. For those prefer a more minimal approach, this slim card case is perfect for holding just the essentials. This ultra slim design can be comfortably carried in the front or back pocket. Handcrafted right here in the USA. Price: $58

Eat More Kale: Chik-Fil-A Big Bully?

Bo Muller-Moore has a beef with Chik-Fil-A. Or, Chik-Fil-A has a beef with Bo Muller-Moore. Muller-Moore is a folk artist who started a business centered around the phrase “eat more kale.” The more problem is that the fast food chain Chik-Fil-A has a similar trademarked phrase, “eat mor chikin.”

Apparently, the Chik-Fil-A folks feel that the phrase “eat more kale” will confuse Chik-Fil-A fans. A lawyer for Chick-fil-A sent a letter to Muller-Moore saying that his kale phrase “is likely to cause confusion of the public and dilutes the distinctiveness of Chick-fil-A’s intellectual property and diminishes its value.”

BULLSHIT.

I’m totally with Bo Muller-Moore on this one. Seriously Chik-Fil-A, you should consider focusing more of your time, energy, and resources on improving your chicken entrees. Leave the kale alone.

Support independent business and buy your Eat More Kale T-Shirts here. You can also sign a petition for Chick-fil-A t0 stop bullying small business owners.

Hello Nyan Cat! Rainbow, Rainbow!

Who knew that a a pop tart cat would lead to over 50 million views on YouTube. This age that we live in, unbelievable. And of course, you can help to quench its growth by purchasing a Nyan Cat T-Shirt from Snorg Tees. The shirt is called Cat + Pastry = Rainbow and is available now Snorg Tees for $14.95.

And now some Nyan Cat history. It all stared with a little comic by prguitarman on LOL-COMICS. The comic was then reblogged on Tumblr over 3000 times. And then it led to a viral YouTube video (see below). And as they say, the rest is history.

Via Know Your Meme: On April 5th, 2011, YouTuber saraj00n posted a video titled Nyan Cat[3], using comic artist prguitarman’s Pop Tart Cat animation set to the well-known Japanese Vocaloid song Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya by Japanese artist Daniwell-P looping in the background, Although the song had been originally composed for Hatsune Miku to sing, The version used in the video was of the cover sung by the Utauloid Momo Momone.

Brookside Clothing: Know Your Roots

Twitter is a wonderful thing. A post on Twitter about a recent purchase from Ugmonk sparked a conversation with @iambrookside (add him on Twitter) about his own brand, Brookside Clothing. Of course, I was curious so I took a look at his shop and lo and behold, he surprised me with some delightful designs.

The first that stuck out at me was Know Your Roots. I love the message, colorway, typography. It’s an excellent shirt. The other one was Do It, which interestingly is very similar in theme to the random Ugmonk Shirt that sparked our conversation, Do What You Love. I recommend that you check out both T-Shirts which are available now from the Brookside online shop for $15.

Instagram T-Shirt Spotting #4: Love Is Happy and Unhappy

This is Instagram T-Shirt Spotting. I use Instagram a lot. A LOT. This makes sense since I’m pretty much glued to my iPhone and I love to snap photos. One of the great things about Instagram are the awesome random photos that I stumble upon. Occasionally I spot an awesome T-Shirt on Instagram like Love Is Happy and Unhappy from @nooneknowsmyname on Instagram. I love the words on the T-Shirt.

*I made this name up. Like many of the T-Shirts posted on Instagram, there is no mention of the brand name or T-Shirt design name.

He-Man: I Have The Powerpoint

This He-Man parody T-Shirt just made my day. If you know me then you know that I grew up loving He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. I had all of the action figures. In fact, I still have them. So I have to give a thumbs up to the latest Threadless Labs addition by Justin Davis and Phil Jones.

I Have The Powerpoint is available now from Threadless for $20. This tee is part of Threadless Labs and therefore it may only be available for 2 weeks, so snatch it up!

R U Reppin: The Latest Crowdsourcing T-Shirt Community

R u Reppin is the latest brand to enter the growing number of crowdsourcing T-Shirt sites. Members are allowed to submit designs which are then voted on by the R u Reppin Community. If your design wins to be printed on a tee, you will get $500 for each winning design and $2 for each t-shirt sold in the first 30 days and $1 for each t-shirt sold between 30 and 60 days.

R U Reppin currently has a collection of 17 T-Shirts. My favorite from the bunch was Done With Problems by Brazilian designer Matheus Lopes Castro (aka mathiole). You might remember mathiole as the designer of the iconic Colorblind T-Shirt from Threadless. R U Repping T-Shirts are available for sale for $19.97.

“R U Reppin is an online community of users that design, vote, and buy tees that are based around hip hop and the street lifestyle. When you sign up you become a representative of a cultural movement that allow you to post comments and critiques, download a tee template, and submit your designs in one of the many contests where you will have the chance to win some serious dough. Also, when you buy an R U Reppin tee, you are automatically doing your part in giving back to the community, where some of the proceeds help children of The Boys and Girls Clubs of America and other worthy causes that will help children develop and achieve their talents, creativity, and dreams.”
