And this is what a real life Care Bear would look like. Angry. ROOOOOAAAARRRRR!
Scare Bear is available now from Society6 for $18.
Brilliant shirt by Aled Lewis. I do have to say, though, that it kind of freaks me out! I mean, I live in Hawaii. I love the beach. I never want to encounter a shark. Ever!
The Deadliest Sharks of All Time by Aled Lewis is available now from Threadless for $20.
I’ve been a long time fan of Glennz Tees for some time now, and so I feel quite bad for missing some of his recent T-Shirt releases. Luckily, artist Glenn Jones just released his latest design. Worm Magic features a worm stuck in the core of an apple and then cut in half. What happens? The worm survives the cut – magic! Of course, in real life, this isn’t always the case! Usually, if you cut the worm towards the posterior (the side opposite to that of the head), it will often times grow back the tail. If you make the cut too close to the anterior end (the head) then it will likely die. Now the big question, what happens if you cut the worm in half? A worm cut in half is likely to die!
Worm Magic is available now from Glennz Tees for $19.95.
Otter-Tude from ReThink Clothing, is my defacto favorite ReThink tee. Seriously, what’s not to love about this insanely adorable (and badass) otter. ReThink Clothing recently announced that Otter-Tude is part of their Super Senior Series, meaning that it is getting one last print run in a new colorway. This also means that this is your last chance to get your dirty hands on Otter-Tude. So what are you waiting for? Go pick it up now!
Otter-Tude is available now from ReThink Clothing for $19.99 but you can save 20% off your entire order by using the code COTY at checkout.
What if the uncanny X-Men were actually a bunch of uncanny hipsters?! Well, they’d probably consist of unruly hair, overgrown mustaches, really thick glasses and form fitting second hand clothing. Or, they’d look a lot like the Mighty Fine superhero hipsters featured below.
Here at Mighty Fine, we like to keep an eye on the latest trends in internet humor. (Or the OMG LULZ, if you will.) Having a healthy appreciation for comic book geekery, as many of you do, we found the recent rounds of “superhero hipster” memes to be pretty darn hilarious. Still, it got us to thinking… what if saving the world was actually the job of hipsters who also had a full slate of shopping for skinny jeans and arguing about the relative worth of Wilco’s last album?
I love the text featured below the Uncanny Hipsters tee, so fitting.
Use the Mighty Fine MyTee Shirt Creator to customize your hipster shirt today! I tried it out and the custom tees are priced at $25.
While most guys lust for the newest, shiniest and fastest toy … their significant other is often stuck worrying about the “important” stuff. Adulthood means setting your priorities straight and that means that sometimes you need to pass on that shiny new toy. But my goodness … shiny new toys are always soooooo awesome. They always have this magical, unicorn-like glow that just pulls you in and cripples you. I call it the “Apple Effect” and I fall for it every time. I see it, I lust for it and I want it. I don’t always get it, but that won’t stop me from wishing!
Priorities is available now from Glennz Tees for $19.95.
My goodness it’s been way too long since I’ve posted a Tilteed tee design. Well, I jut couldn’t pass up on talking about this sexy beast from veteran Tilteed designer theJCW. It’s called Playing The Monotreme Blues and it features a jazzed up platypus singing his heart out. Now, I searched YouTube high and low to see if I could find a real life, jazz singing platypus. The closest thing that I could find was a platypus singing the P-P-Platypus song. Warning: the P-P-Platypus song is both addicting and annoying, so proceed with caution!
Playing The Monotreme Blues is available now for the next three days from Tilteed for $12, and you can score an even better discount ($2 off) if you use the code TILTCOTY at checkout!
Our friends over at Threadless recently released another charity themed tee, this time focusing on the recent major flooding in Australia, Brazil and Sri Lanka. The T-Shirt costs $12 but $9 goes directly to global flood relief. Rider Through The Storm is an awesome tee that was designed for a great cause, so be sure to go and pick one up.
The tragic flooding in Australia, Brazil, and Sri Lanka left us at a loss for words. Thankfully our Creative Director, Ross Zietz (arzie13), and designer Blair Sayer (Mr Rocks) realized that sometimes art can speak louder than words.
They contacted Brazilian designer Matheus Lopes Castro (mathiole) and Australian designer Simon Massey Di Vallazza (francobolli) and began collaborating on a flood relief shirt design.
The resulting design, Riders Through The Storm, is now available for purchase. $9 from the sale of each shirt will go toward flood relief.
On working across continents, Ross says he “was worried working on a collab with people in 3 very different time zones might have been a challenge but not with these guys. It was an easy organic process that came together nicely. Big props to each of the guys, and Matheus especially for his amazing linework and melding of everyone’s styles.
Simon Massey Di Vallazza lives in Brisbane, an area hit especially hard by the Australian flooding. After seeing the damage firsthand, he’s “so grateful to be involved in this great initiative with such talented designers that will not only help Australian flood victims but also those in Brazil and Sri Lanka’s devastated regions. A huge thank you to Threadless for making this happen.”
Rider Through The Storm is available at Threadless for $12, with $9 of each sale going towards global flood relief.
This shirt has a lot of things going on, so let me walk you through it. First there’s a shark, then there’s a bear straddled on top of said shark. Bear is clutching a rifle while smoking a cigar. All the while, the bear has on a Three Wolf Moon T-Shirt. Not far away, there is an explosion, the kind of big explosion that Michael Bay loves to set off in his movies (see Transformers, Pearl Harbor, and Armageddon).
Can a shirt get any more epic than this? I’d sign a petition to have this shirt made into a movie. Someone, anyone, go get that petition started!
Bear Shark is available now from NerdyShirts for $24.95.
I wonder if this T-Shirt has anything to do with the sharkbeartopus meme that spread via Reddit a few years ago:
Don’t get me wrong, I love each of my Threadless tees. However, my Punk Rock Cock T-Shirt suffered from a stretched out collar. As such, it wasn’t so great for wearing anymore. So it sat, unsued, in my drawer for a long time. That was until I came up with the idea to turn Aled Lewis’ classic tee into a one-of-a-kind Threadless throw pillow.
Although I came up with the idea, I have to say thank you to my mom for having the know how to actually make it into a tangible product. Thanks mom!
Having said that, the pillow is super comfy and very stylish – I Love It! I should also note that screen printed tag from the T-Shirt is sewn on to the back of the pillow (I thought that would be cool). We were originally going to use the entire T-Shirt for the pillow cover (minus the green), but the punk rock cock graphic was situated in such a way that it would have been impossible to cut a perfect square without the cock being off-center. So instead, we decided to cut a tight square around the cock and then use green fabric for the rest of the pillow. Doing this added a nice border around the front graphic.
Day 3: Custom Punk Rock Cock Throw Pillow
This throw pillow was inspired by Punk Rock Cock by Aled Lewis.
How many of you would be interested in purchasing this pillow? Or maybe would be interested in having a custom Threadless pillow made especially for you for a nominal fee (i.e. you choose a Threadless tee and then I buy it, make it and then ship it to you)? Comment and let me know!
