It’s Summer Sale Week at one of my favorite online tee shops, Glennz Tees! All T-Shirts are now priced at $13.95 until Midnight Sunday August 7. These are great. On of my favorite T-Shirt illustrators, Glenn Jones or Glennz Tees recently posted a couple of videos on Vimeo featuring his illustration process. Check out some concept Glennz designs go from blank slate to full fledged T-Shirt design. If you like these designs you can vote for them here so that they potentially can go to print. Rad.
Ah, the childhood nostalgia continues with the latest T-Shirt from our friends at Made With Awesome. It’s called Precious Pop and it’s an homage to 1. Lord of the Rings, and 2. Ring Pops! How cool is that? Now, I might not be the biggest LOTR fan alive. Truthfully, I’ve not even seen one of the LOTR films. The closest I’ve ever got was 30 minutes into the first film. I know, pretty bad for my geek credentials. However, I did love Ring Pops growing up. These were pretty much a staple for any kid growing up in the 80’s/90’s. Do kids now-a-days still suck on Ring Pops? Are they even still sold? Where can I buy a Ring Pop in 2011?! I all of a sudden want one.
Precious Pop is available now from Made With Awesome for $24.
What does it mean to be Alive & Well? According to this owl, it means getting to the tootsie roll center of a Tootsie Pop! This cute parody tee of the iconic Tootsie Pop Owl from the memorable 80’s commercial, is a fun piece of nostalgia, especially for an 80’s kid like me. For an extra piece of fun, check out the video below. It’s a behind the scenes sneak peak of Owl by Alive & Well being manually screen printed by Monster Press.
Owl is printed on a Gildan Soft Style blank and is available now from the Alive & Well online store for £13.99.
When Sweets Turn Sour is the newest tee from German based T-Shirt contest site, A Better Tomorrow and was designed by a blog favorite, Dale Edwin Murray. The shirt features some pretty feisty hard candy treats, including what looks like a seemingly hardcore candy cane! Too bad our teeth weren’t made to withstand endless amounts of sugar, but then again, our hips would probably suffer if we did have that ability!
The lesson here, kids? Brush you teeth and those meanie candies will have a harder time poking holes into your treasured teeth. Give your enamel a chance to succeed!

You’ve got to love the name of this shirt. Candy Bars In Flight – love it! And you know what, I have to admit that this past October was a bad month for me. Bad in that I consumed much more candy then I should have! I have a problem. Whenever the big holidays roll along I become a sucker for those candy packs that litter the shelves at the local drug store. You know what I am talking about, a bag of 50 mini Snicker bars for $2.5o. I end up buying a gazillion bags. I’m such a bad boy when it comes to candy. I have a sweet tooth. And that is why Candy Bars In Flight is the perfect shirt for me during the months of October, November and December. All of those months of have major holidays! Oh man.
Candy Bars In Flight is printed on a black organic cotton tee and is available now from Omunky for $22. Even better, you can save 15% by using the coupon code “COTY” at checkout. Score!
Want to buy a shirt that’s worth €15,000? That’s exactly how much Piu Piu won at French T-Shirt contest site, laFriase for her design, Elephant Gum. And while you’re there be sure to read the interview that Piu Piu did with la Fraise, you wont get 15K for doing so but it is worth the read. Elephant Gum is available now from laFraise for €19.
“The Designer was inspired by a french saying: A bit of thick skinned attitude in this elusive world. Go and adopt an elephant, you will get beautiful teeth then! (free translation).”
Now if I am being honest, I am not entirely sure if that single T-Shirt design is worth the 15K prize but then again, art is in the eye of the beholder. How many of you dig the la Fraise 15K prize winning design?
Glenn Jones from Glennz Tees never fails to impress! He latest shirt is called Death By Chocolate and it is a hoot! Diehard M&M fans might cringe but the typical chocolate fan will probably laugh-out-loud and then run to the vending machine. You can pick up Death By Chocolate from Glennz Tees now for just $19.95 (imagine how much chocolate you could buy with that).
Fact: Forrest Mars came up with the idea for M & Ms during the Spanish Civil War. He discovered that soldiers were looking for a taste of home, in the form of chocolate, but needed something that could withstand hot temperatures. Mars took their request as a challenge and eventually came up with the candy, which he packaged in heavy tubes. Soldiers today still love M & Ms because they can hold up in just about any climate.
