Threadless released a slew of T-Shirts this past Monday, as they are known to do, but I was pleasantly surprised with one T-Shirt in particular. Burger Eclipse by David Schwen is an epic T-Shirt. Why? Burgers! I love burgers and Burger Eclipse is all about the burger. And apparently, designer David Schwen is a big fan of the burger too, he is incidently also the brian behind the popular Threadless tee, Burgervetica.
Every burger fan has a burger or a burger joint that they swear is the best. For me, that place is Hodad’s in San Diego. This is what I had to say about my Hodad’s experience:
“The menu is a simple one: burgers, fries and shakes! I decided to get the Double Bacon Cheeseburger and I even SAC’d (added Swiss and American Cheese) it! Let me tell you, the burger that I had at Hodad’s may possibly be the best burger that I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot of burgers from many different places). Part of it might have been the setting and people, but, the burger alone was ace.”
Now, I have to say that the burgers at Red Mill Burgers is also delicious as hell. So good! The Bleu Cheese N’ Bacon Burger is THE burger to get from Red Mill. It is amazing and is making my mouth water RIGHT NOW.
And of course I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the Shake Shack in New York. They say that this burger joint is the closest thing the east coast has to an In-N-Out. I’d have to say that the Shake Shack surpasses In-N-Out. It’s just a greasy good burger with no regard for veggies (love that). But it’s still not Hodad’s.
I freakin’ love a good burger! And ALL three of these burgers were, as we say in Hawaii, ono!
Artist and illustrator extraordinaire Hon Lam aka Flying Mouse set out to do something a year ago that was crazy insane. He decided to create a design a day for an entire year that was worthy for submission to Threadless. 365 days later, Lam had a whole lot of T-Shirt designs without out a home. He also became the most printed artist at Threadless (27 winning submissions). So what to do with the rest of his designs that didn’t make the Threadless cut? Lam decided to start his own brand, Flying Mouse 365, where you can find the bulk of his illustrations.
Seven new tees will be released every week at a lower pre-sale price. Once the week is over, a new batch of 7 tees are released. Shirts are printed on American Apparel blanks.
Loren from Walkie Talkie Tees let me know of an awesome sale they’ve currently got going on – save 20% off  everything in their online store from now until Labor Day! This means that shirts regularly priced at $18 are now $15 – score!
This was my first time visiting Walkie Talkie Tees and I absolutely loved two of their shirts and can highly recommend Love Means Nothing and I Love Gouda. Admittedly, it took me a few seconds to figure out the Love Means Nothing shirt but once I got it I appreciated it that much more. Love Means Nothing belongs in my closet!
Here’s a great interview that Chris Morrow from iReport did with the popular wine guru and social media expert, Gary Vaynerchuk. In the short video Gary talks a little about Twitter and more importantly, Search.Twitter, and how we can use this tool to optimize our personal brands.Â
I have to admit that I am a huge fan of Gary and he was a big inspiration for me starting this blog. Anyone else out there reading this dig what @garyvee is doing?Â
And of course, I must include a T-Shirt in the post, so here we go, some Gary Vaynerchuk inspired tees:
All three of these tee can be picked up from Wine Library. The first one is called lurker and it’s the perfect tee for those of us who, well, love to lurk. It’s normally priced at $15.99 but is on sale for just $9.99.Â
OAK MONSTER! Gary loves to talk about that Oak Monster and if you’re a fan of the Oak Monster this is the tee that you should rock. Unfortunately, it’s sold out – Booo!
And finally, it’s the Fruit Bomb! And who doesn’t like a good fruit bomb once in a while, I know I don’t mind it at all. If you’re into over the top fruit bomb wines then pick up this Wine Library tee for $14.99.Â
