I recently discovered XCVB, a UK based indie brand. I had a look at their offerings and have to admit that I was instantly drawn to Foreign Body. I think it was the combination of odd imagery and tiny text. Speaking of the text, it seems as if come straight out of a noir novel from the 1950’s:
“So as a bloom against her throat his jealousy blossomed. Betrayal cursing through his veins like a pack of red dogs, the hairs bristled along his spine. His faults becoming perfection, his lies in harmony would soon ring true. This false and fevered glare. In vain defense she tried making eyes at him but he had made his own for her as blind as love itself.”
So cool, right?! Foreign Body is available now from XCVB for £25 (~$41 US).
It takes a special kind of guy to wear pink. The kind of guy that oozes confidence and is very self-assured about himself is often the type brave enough to sport a pink T-Shirt. The pink T-Shirt wearer is not afraid of ridicule. The pink T-Shirt wearer is a brave soul with an impeccable taste for fashion. A guy that wear a pink T-Shirt does not mind eyeballs starring and fingers point, instead, he embraces those things. Having said all of that, it takes an extraordinary man (not just a special man) to wear a pink T-Shirt with a set of teeth and three popping eyeballs.
If you are that man then I salute you.
FixPix Icon is available now from eBoy for $40.
And in case you’re wondering, this design is based on the awesome iPhone game, FixPix. The eyeball and teeth design on the front of this T-Shirt resembles the icon for the game. Check it out here and download it from the App Store for $1.99.
The latest tee from Random Objects is pure hotness. Not much more I can say about it, other than I love it.
This design takes inspiration from Helen Keller’s famous quote “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight and no vision.” How many of us have lost sight of the dreams we once had for ourselves; what happened to the goals we wanted to aspire towards? Well if you are working hard helping everyone else to fulfill their dreams and goals – maybe you should have “your vision” checked.
Vision Test is available now from Random Objects for $21 but you can save 10% off your entire order with the coupon code “RANDOMOBJ” at checkout!
If you don’t think that the Carnivore vs. Veggie tee is awesome then you are not human! As I was perusing MNKR’s offerings, this particular design caught my eye. It’s an obvious play on those vintage boxing posters, which I am also a fan of. This California based maker of crafty tees definitely has some interesting designs. The Future Is Now features nice type treatment and Salon Lady is vintage chic.
MNKR has been around for quite some time now, 7 years to be exact. However, they just received a Registered Trademark for MNKR. Wondering what MNKR stands for? Looking for a name, the founder decided to go with one that start with the same letter as his own name, which is M. He went with MNKR, which is short for “moniker”, which is another word for “a name.” Interesting, huh!
You can find MNKR at Unique LA in Booth 208.
During the next few days I’ll be featuring the awesome clothing brands that will be setting up booths at Unique LA, an independent design and gift show that will take place on April 24th thru the 25th at the California Market Center.
Every day I come up with a new witty Threadless TypeTees Slogan in hopes of earning a Threadless Alumni Club Medal of Honor. At the end of every week I post a round up of that weeks slogans here on my blog. What can you do to help the cause? Vote! Just click on a slogan (preferably all of them) and then vote by click “I’d Wear It!” – it’s that simple! If you want to see and vote for all of my slogans then just click here or on that photo of me with the Rockband guitar. Vote for me and I will bake you your own burrito if ever we meet in real life.
Week 5 (January 29, 2010 to February 4, 2010):
I was listening to someone talk about biochemistry and this slogan popped up in my head! Would make a good Valentines Day TypeTee, Threadless staff **Wink, Wink**!
Especially for those who like to write things like FTW! or WIN! – you know these people and you might even be one. Slogans FTW!
OK, you need to be both a web geek and a Threadless geek to get this one. Before Twitter made 140 characters an iconic cultural limitation, OMG Clothing (later to become TypeTees) made 65 characters the max you had to get your thought across. In my opinion, 65 is so much harder to do than 140.
Skipping? Pfffftttt. Real geeks tab.
People inherently want more, and more, and more. But the key, no matter what, is always moderation. Want more advice? Knew you would.
Step 1. Find yellow and green marker. Step 2. Color yourself with said markers until your entirely green. And there you go – BAM – GREEN! Now go worry about your carbon footprint.
Really, it should! If cameras can do it then why not the eyeball! Imagine if you could zoom in and out using your MIND. That would be insane. I want that!
