7-Striped Knee-High Fur Face Boy Socks

Socks! Few of you might know this, but I’m actually a sock nut! Okay, that did not sound very appropriate. I swear to GOD that I typed that with a clean mind. Seriously though, I love socks. I’ve got a drawer full of weird socks with different designs, stripes, colors, etc. The funkier, the better. So I have to give my boy Ha Mai of Fur Face Boy propos for branching out and releasing custom made Fur Face Boy high-knee socks. They look awesome and I bet they feel just as awesome.

These fancy 7-Striped Knee-High Fur Face Boy Socks are available now from Fur Face Boy for $12.

Keep Your Noggin Warm With The Fur Face Boy Beanie

One thing that you’ll be noticing in 2012 is that I will be expand this blog to include a few things more than T-Shirts. I’d like to expand the brand, as they say. To kick things off is this sweet chocolate brown and blue Fur Face Boy Beanie. I dig it! Too bad the weather in Hawaii is too warm to warrant use of said beanie. However, if I lived in some far away land with an oh-so-cold breeze then this is what I would be wearing.

PS: Aren’t those product shots just super!

The Fur Face Boy Beanie is available now from the Fur Face Boy shop for $24.

Fur Face Boy Series 6 Release + Party!

I’ve been a fan of Fur Face Boy (and its founder Ha Mai) for some time now. I’ve always enjoyed his designs, the story behind each design, and the passion that he puts into every aspect of his brand. Fur Face Boy is the real deal and his latest release, Series 6, proves it. I love how each of his designs are inspired by something that he loves, from childhood to adulthood. How can you not appreciate THAT?

With Series 6, Fur Face Boy continues with his T-Shirt madness and expands with a zip-up hoodie, polo, and sweater. The T-Shirts have the usual Fur Face Boy charm, meaning there’s a nice mix of fun parody and original designs. I love it! And how awesome is that Bear Mai T-shirt? Better cop that one, it’ll go fast!

RANDOM: That Street Fighter parody logo T-Shirt might make for a cool gift for a friend of mine that is trying to collect the Street Fighter KidRobot series. I still can’t believe he bought a box of 20 for $200! heck, this T-Shirt would be perfect for any kid that grew up playing fighting games in the 90’s!

Fur Face Boy goes the extra mile with his super fun Springfield T-Shirt. If you don’t know what this T-Shirt is parodying then I never want to speak to you, ever. It’s The Simpsons! I have a feeling that this shirt will be quite popular. Also, Astro Fur makes his triumphant return!

For those not into the parody stuff, Fur Face Boy has got you covered. If you’re looking for something with a bit more street wear flare, I suggest you check out the Crest, Argyle, and Floral print.

Series 6 isn’t available just yet, but it will be soon:

“You are ALL invited to the release of my new Series 6 line next Saturday, December 17th from 7 – 10 pm at the one and only, WE ARE 1976! Along with the release of my new series of tee’s, there will also be a special FFB ♥ We Are 1976 collab tee! Also prepare to get your dranky-drank on (via adult beverages and sodas), munch on some munchies, salivate in awe via a special appearance from the super delicious, Nammi Truck and groove to mixes and spins from the legendary, DJ Love! We really want this to be a super fun and memorable time, so save the date and come out and party with us! You can RSVP via Facebook HERE.”

If I lived in Texas then I would totally be there. I’ll be there in spirit!

Fur Face Boy Series 4 Sneak Peek Teaser

Hey. You. Want a sneak peek of the upcoming Fur Face Boy Series 4 collection? Well here you go! Our buddy Ha Mai posted a few photos, albeit blurred out ones, of his soon to be released Series 4 Fur Face Boy T-Shirts. You might recall that Co-Tee TV episodes 70-79 were dedicated to the Fur Face Boy Series 3 line. Needless to say, I’m seriously stoked to see what he has in store with this Series 4.

Based on the photos, I’m guessing that the new line will have around 8-9 new T-Shirts. Maybe a remix if Bearmai? I also extracted images from a high speed GIF that Ha Mai posted over on the Fur Face Boy blog to get a closer look at the new goods.

Fur Face Boy Series 4 releases THIS Saturday at The Public Trust Gallery. If you plan to go then be sure to RSVP. I’m sure that these will also be posted online soon after the offline release.

BIG QUESTION: What do you guys think will be on the Series 4 tees. We all know that Ha Mai loves to infuse his childhood and pop culture into his designs so what do you think he has in store for us with Series 4? Post your thoughts in the comments.

Co-Tee TV Episode 79: Fancy FFB, Doctor Hazmat and Vintage NES

In this episode of Co-Tee TV I wear FFB Fancy by Fur Face Boy and review Super Doctor Hazmat by Doctor Hazmat, a super fun brand from Brooklyn, New York, that takes the mad scientist theme to the next level. Doctor Hazmat is a mad scientist that just loves to keeps hazardous materials in his lab. And sometimes when things go awry, crazy creatures and monsters are created, like M.A.C., the doc’s crazy robotic assistant.

Fur Face Boy sent me an insane amount of T-Shirts from their Series 3 Line. I will be featuring the shirts throughout Co-Tee TV Episodes 70-79 so definitely keep an eye out for even more Fur Face Boy in the coming weeks! See Episode 70 of Co-Tee TV for the Fur Face Boy full review.

Coty’s Thoughts:

Super Doctor Hazmat by Doctor Hazmat. Pros: So much to love about Super Doctor Hazmat! First of all, I really dig the retro throwback 8-Bit style. It instantly brought me back to my childhood of playing Super Mario Bros. on my NES for hours at a time. For me, great shirts tend to bring back nostalgic memories and Super Doctor Hazmat definitely did that. Doctor Hazmat uses American Apparel blanks, so I had no issue when it came to the T-Shirt itself, it was very soft and had a comfortable fit. The print on this tee is HUGE and the design works perfectly as a large print. The shirt features a 5 color print that is not only large but also quite soft. You’ll also find that the tee is tagless and features a custom screen printed neck label instead. Also, on the back of the tee you’ll notice the Doctor Hazmat seal of approval.

Suggestions: Doctor Hazmat is a brand new brand, and so it’s no surprise that all of the focus for this initial released was poured into the part that mattered the most – the T-Shirt (this is a good thing). However, this leaves a lot of room to do some crazy fun things for future releases. I’d love to see custom packaging (fun, whimsical, colorful) to go along with the very loud T-Shirt designs. You could do some really crazy things, theme wise, with Dr. Hazmat. Just step into any science lab and you’ll be swarmed with tons of potential ideas (this is great for the theme). Also, another professional touch that could potentially be added later would be a hang tag. Again, this can be done in a variety of creative way. For instance, instead of a “hangtag” per se, he could use something similar to the Hazard sticker that is often found on the door of any science lab. So many great possibilities, I really look forward to seeing what Doctor Hazmat does in the future!

Price: $25 but you score 15% off your ENTIRE order by using the coupon code COTY at checkout!

FFB Fancy by Fur Face Boy. Pros: It’s been 9 straight episodes of Fur Face Boy goodness and so I think that it’s safe to say that I now have Fur Face Boy in my blood. I can’t say how much I’ve become a fan of this brand. Fur Face Boy is meticulous, detailed, and retro but current enough to be interesting for consumers. Most importantly, with every single Fur Face Boy T-Shirt that I’ve worn and that I have reviewed, I can just feel the passion resonate from each piece. A little piece of Ha Mai (the Fur Face Boy Founder) can be felt with each and every one of his T-Shirts. Trust me when I say that when you order a tee from Fur Face Boy, you will not just receive a tee, you’ll receive a tee made with love and a detailed eye. Much respect.

Price: $19.99 (On Sale).

Co-Tee TV Episode 77: FFB Bam, SoillFu and Voltron

In this episode of Co-Tee TV I wear FFB Bam by Fur Face Boy and review Voltron FVR FRSH by SoillFu, an urban streetwear brand based out of Dallas, Texas.

Voltron FVR FRSH by SoillFu. Pros: The shirt features a custom neck tag and tag on the lower left seam. Cons: First off, the wrong size was sent to me so I could not try on the T-Shirt. I did notice a lot of stray markings on the tee. There were stray green markings on the front of the T-Shirt to both the left and right of the center Voltron design. Also, on the inside of the T-Shirt were even more stray brown markings. The sewing work on the custom tags were not done very good, a lot of stray thread  and uneven sewing (see image below). The neck area on the T-Shirt was quite dirty. Also, a quick inspection of the print of the design tells me that it had been previously washed because the ink looked faded, especially the black ink. And most alarming was the very odd odor of the T-Shirt. All of this leads me to conclude that the T-Shirt has been previously worn. I was not blown away by this product from Soillfu. All of this distracted me from the actual design, but even the design did not do it for me and would not be something that I would wear. Price: $24.00.

FFB Bam! by Fur Face Boy. Pros: Another excellent comic inspired T-Shirt from Fur Face Boy. The design itself is actually based on “Sweet Dreams Baby!” by pop artist, Roy Lichtenstein. This five-color print features a custom hang tag and neck tag, as well as a custom FFB tag on the left seam of the tee. As with all FFB tees, this shirt comes with FFB logo stickers and is packaged in a custom FFB plastic bag. Price: $32.

Co-Tee TV Episode 75: Raglans, Random Objects and Pigeons

In this episode of Co-Tee TV I wear FFB Raglan by Fur Face Boy and review Random Objects by Random Objects, a New York based brand that draws inspiration from quotes and proverbs. PS: This episode was supposed to be uploaded a while back, so some of the things that I talk about might seem … a bit dated :)

“Quotes and proverbs inspire all of our designs here at RANDOM OBJECTS. They are the common theme that run throughout all of our t-shirts and products. We take these various quotes and proverbs and interpret them visually. Sometimes the quote [proverb or saying] itself is the graphic; while at other times, they inspire us to design a graphic based around its’ meaning.”

Origami Pigeon by Random Objects. Pros: I love the fact the brand is called Random Objects and that every shirt comes packaged with a … random object! My random objects was a pair of black pencils packaged in chop stick sleeves. So cool! The shirt itself featured the standard American Apparel white blank, which was comfy as always. The T-Shirt comes packaged in a clear plastic bag, which is a nice touch especially when the shirt is being shipped cross country. The T-Shirt is tagless and features a very large screen printed neck label instead. The T-Shirt graphic is awesome (i’ve always loved this design) and the print itself is quite soft. Cons: The only thing that I didn’t care for was the small Random Objects print right below the graphic on the front of the shirt. I the design could have gone without that. Price: $20 but use coupon code RANDOMOBJ at checkout for an extra 10% off your entire order.

“Pigeons are probably the most courageous birds in the world! They will walk through crowded city streets without fear, and will trot in front of oncoming traffic without hesitation. They’re everywhere… even on your shirt!”

FFB Raglan by Fur Face Boy. Pros: Another excellent product from our friends at Fur Face Boy, this time, a Raglan tee. I’m a big fan of baseball style cut T-Shirts and so the FFB Raglan was a pleasant surprise in a box that was filled with FFB T-Shirts. My favorite part about this shirt is that it features the number 81, which coincidently, was the year that I was born. There are only a few left so be sure to grab them while you still can. Price: $34.

Co-Tee TV Episode 74: Eleprint, Frank and Jan and Unplugged

In this episode of Co-Tee TV I wear Eleprint by Fur Face Boy and review Unplugged by Frank and Jan, a brand that was founded in 2007 in Los Angeles, California and and born from common themes of capitalism, fame, minimalism and consumption of pop culture. Frank & Jan is an art and design driven company showcasing bold graphics mixed with simple, functional apparel.

Unplugged by Frank and Jan. Pros: T-Shirts are shipped in individual plastic bags inside of a black Frank and Jan custom mailer. Frank and Jan tees are tagless and feature the Frank and Jan logo. Frank and Jan custom logo stickers are included with each T-Shirt. Unplugged features a ver large vertical print featuring half tones to give the illusion of different shades of blacks and grays as well as extra depth to the design. Unplugged is a little tame compared to some of the other Frank and an offerings. If you want something a little more risque then be sure to check out the Frank and Jan online shop! Cons: Size wise, the T-Shirt seems slighter larger than the American Apparel blanks that we typically review here. If you like color in your designs then Frank and Jan may not be your cup of tea – they tend to focus on designs that feature just black and white. Some of the tees over at Frank and Jan’s shop are a little vulgar, but if you like that kind of thing then you probably will love Frank and Jan! Price: $24 (Sold Out). You can purchase some Frank and Jan tees from Colette.fr, but you will pay a premium for them.

“In addition to art and design, Frank & Jan is also a full-service screen printing shop providing quality, custom design and screen printing services for individuals and businesses. Influences Include: Pop culture icons, fame, street culture, gangster rap, punk rock, religious iconography, reggae, death metal, and infamous front page headlines.”

FFB Eleprint by Fur Face Boy. I’m a big fan of Michael Jordan, Jordan Brand and Nike, and so when I saw that FFB Eleprint featuring the famous elephant print from the Air Jordan 3’s (circa 1988) I was stoked. Fur Face Boy founder, Ha Mai, continues to draw inspiration from his childhood passions and incorporate them into his brand – you’ve got to respect that. unfortunately, FFB Eleprint is no longer available for sale because it’s sold out! Hint: If you want something from Fur Face Boy then buy it when you see because it will sell out at one point or another and probably sooner than you’d expect! Price: $32 (Sold Out).
