Oh my, it’s been way too long since I’ve mentioned our good friends over at Found Item Clothing. Macho Slut, I hope that you are doing well! With that said, all of you 80′s kids MUST check out this 8-Bit Karate Kid T-Shirt. It’s A-W-E-S-O-M-E. It’s a Mortal Kombat x Karate Kid Mashup. The Brits would call this one brilliant. And I’d have to agree with them.
This Pixel Heart necklace from Etsy would have been the perfect accessory for this Threadless Cardigan and this ThinkGeek T-Shirt. Very cool. But alas, it’s a one-of-a-kind item and it’s been sold. Dun, dun, dun.
A few days ago I reviewed the 8-Bit Dynamic Life T-Shirt from ThinkGeek. I really dug that tee, however, if you’re looking for something a bit more fancy or Geek Chic then look no further than LIFE by Matt Leyen. This cardigan is so understated, relaxed, and cool. You’re a gamer, but you’re not screaming hardcore gamer when you use this cardigan. I admit, this cardigan is sexy.
People will either LOVE this T-Shirt or they will consider it an eye sore. I actually really dig this blue and yellow stripped T-Shirt from Fangamer. Long time video game fans will recognize this T-Shirt from the role-playing video game series created by Shigesato Itoi for Nintendo, EarthBound. Naive onlookers might mistake you for a very intense Michigan fan. Hey, I too was a fan of The Fab Five.
This T-Shirt is not about Michigan or The Fab Five. It’s about old fashioned video game goodness. And if you are about to recognize the origin of this T-Shirt then you owe it to yourself to OWN it. Now.
Fangamer got it right with this gaming shirt! The Gaming Loop is a nice homage to the classic video game console gamepad/controller1. And how cool is it that Fangamer references Chrono Trigger in their product description! Of course, we all remember that, when in the facotry ruins, we must head north in the long passage, grab the Plasma Gun and then use the computer that requires the ZABIE password. ZABIE as in XABY on the controller!
“Whether entering the security code ZABIE or simply trying to open the menu (usually it’s X, but sometimes it’s Y), every gamer has the familiar contours of the gaming loop stuck in their head — now you can keep them close to your heart as well!
This tribute to multicultural gaming history was designed by controller fanatic Jon Kay and printed on 100% cotton American Apparel 2001 shirts. The ‘Homeland’ version is printed on New Silver, while the ‘Overseas’ version is Black. The 4X shirts are printed on Anvil 420 organic cotton black/white tees, and the 5X/6X shirts are printed on Hanes 5250 black/asphalt tees.”
1. I’m a bit saddened by the fact that classic gaming controller as we know it is somewhat on the endangered list. I mean, Apple has pretty much changed the game with its touch based mobile devices. As we’ve seen with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, gaming is a large facet of these devices. And soon, we might see a greater Apple presence in the living room – The mythical Apple TV (a real TV and not the little streaming box we have today). Will this kick the classic gaming console as we know it to the curb? Possibly.
Yes, it’s true. I am addicted to Angry Birds. I guess the first step is admitting it, right? In all honesty, I’ve finished the game but the problem now is that I am trying (with much difficulty) to get triple stars for each level. I know, it’s a little OCDish, but what’s a guy to do while waiting for Angry Birds 2 to come out?
And just to prove to you that my Angry Birds quest is real, here are screenshots from worlds 1 and 2. As you can see, all triple stars in both worlds! Who’s boss? I’m boss. Now, how about the other 13?!
Of course, the T-Shirt connoisseurs at NerdyShirts know that millions of people share my addiction. What to do? Sell Angry Birds shirts of course! The Angry Birds shirts are available now at NerdyShirts for $23.95 a piece.
You can file this under the category labeled bizarre. Yu Kobayashi is a Japanese actress that is best known for her voice, which has appeared in video games such as Ar tonelico III, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and the feature film adaptation of Animal Crossing. What’s bizarre is that she decided to create some scribbles that look like they came from someone who was high on acid. And the worst part is that this isn’t a joke product, Kobayashi is actually selling her design in tote and T-Shirt form. If you’re crazy enough to be even remotely interested in this, then you deserve to spend the $63 that it will cost you to own these two products.
Would you buy this T-Shirt/Tote combination pack? Would you wear this T-Shirt?
So I didn’t get a chance to do the project that I had previewed on Day 15, only because I couldn’t find the materials that I needed in the colors that I wanted (damn you Wal-Mart)! So while I work on finding the goods, I give you this peace offering. It’s a piece of wallpaper based on the Pac-Shirt Postcard from Day 13. Enjoy!
Day 16: Pac-Shirt Wallpaper
1. To install on your laptop or computer, first download the Wallpaper set below and then check your screen resolution of your laptop or computer. Install the wallpaper size that best fits your screen resolution. Note that the sizes offered below are optimized for MacBooks and iMacs.
2. To install on your iPhone, first click on the download link to the iPhone wallpaper within Safari while using your iPhone. The image of the Wallpaper will pop up. Now, tap and hold on the image of the wallpaper on the screen. You should see a menu pop up asking if you would like to “Save Image.” Click “Save Image” and now you will find your new wallpaper in your iPhone’s Camera Roll. Tap on the wallpaper within the Camera Roll and then tap on the arrow on the far left of the bottom of the screen. You now have the option to “Use as Wallpaper.” Once you tap “Use as Wallpaper”, you’re all set! Enjoy you new iPhone wallpaper!
The T-Shirt 365 project is free of charge, meaning, you can use the materials provided here as many times as you would like. However, I do ask that you DO NOT repost the actual project files on other websites. It would be better if you simply linked back to the particular blog post on my website! It’s good karma for you and it’ll make me super happy to see the linkback!
The goal of the project is to have enough material so that I can make a book encompassing the entire project. If all goes as planned, we’ll have something amazing available in 2012!

Knight: Headphones by Modus Collection.Pros: There is definitely a lot to like about this particular T-Shirt from Modus Collection. First of all, I think it is the strongest design of the six T-Shirts in the fall 2010 collection. The T-Shirt itself is a 50% cotton/50% polyester blend and is very soft, however, I wish they would mention what type of T-Shirt blank was used. I love that the tee is tagless and instead features a screenprinted neck label instead. Another great feature of Knight: Headphones is the custom embroidered tag on the lower left seam of the T-Shirt featuring the Modus Collection logo. Finally, I should note that the T-Shirt is shipped in a separate sealed plastic bag to protect the tee during shipment. Also, Modus Collection uses custom mailers which provides a nice professional touch. I’d also like to note that I was rather impressed with the various promo shots featuring the different Modus Collection T-Shirts. A lot of times, product shots are an after thought. That’s not the case here, they obviously put thought into selecting models and backgrounds, I just wish other brands would do the same.
Suggestions: My biggest concern when it comes to the current crop of Modus Collection T-Shirts is the price of the product. I feel as if Modus Collection is marketing their tees as a premium product (which is fine and other indie brands definitely do this as well) and the price point definitely reflects that. Despite this, I feel the price point is a bit much. I should note that there is nothing wrong with a high price point and in fact I have reviewed tees that are priced above $30, $40 and even $50. However, if you do have a high price point, you better impress. At this price point ($38), I would have expected a custom cut T-Shirt, intricate packaging, and even custom hangtags. I think that the background story and theme of the line is great, but, I think they either need to 1. drop the price a little, or 2. provide a more premium experience so that buyers feel as if they are getting their money’s worth. Some examples that I can point to that offered me a wow moment when opening the product include Maiden Voyage, Excess Is OK and Fur Face Boy. Each of these brands sell their T-Shirts at a premium price, but the difference is that when I received these products I actually felt as if I was opening a premium product. Having said that, my biggest suggestion would be to 1. improve on customer experience.
The Doctor Is In by Doctor Hazmat.Pros: Doctor Hazmat fans, we are back with the third and final Doctor Hazmat T-Shirt! The great thing about the Doctor Hazmat line is the cohesiveness. I love how he had a theme and stuck with it. Collectively, all three designs work together. Nothing feels fragmented or oddly placed with Doctor Hazmat, it just works. In the future, I’d like to see the brand step it up in other aspects such as packaging. I think some great things can be done with this science/mac scientist theme and Docotor Hazmat is definitely moving in the right direction. Now go buy some Doctor Hazmat T-Shirts while you still can!
