Hello and Welcome To Apple Week!

I’m quite sure that many of the regular readers here know that I am a diehard member of the Cult of Mac and I am damn proud of it. Many have speculated that this week Apple will be releasing the long awaited Apple Tablet. Whether it’ll be called the iTablet, iSlate, iPad, or the Jesus Tablet, I have high hopes that it’s going to be AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME. And to celebrate I am officially making it Apple Week here at CotyGonzales.com! That’s right, you’ll notice an unusual influx of Apple posting this week – don’t worry, though, you’ll still get your T-Shirt fix – it’ll just be geared towards the Mac side of things!

I’ve got some fun posts planned this week so be on the look out for them! Apple users rejoice because it is looking to be an amazing week. I’m so excited!

Co-Tee TV Episode 34: I’m A Mac, Print Liberation and Macintosh

Co-Tee TV is here and I’ve got on two Mac inspired T-Shirts in this episode. The first tee was intentional but the second tee was entirely coincidental! I am not even kidding. In this episode I wear I’m A Mac from Insanely Great Tees and review Macintosh from Print Liberation.

Coty’s Thoughts:

Macintosh by Print Liberation. Pros: You’ll buy this shirt because you’re a big Apple fan, simply love using your Mac or once had one of these original Macintosh’s. The shirt is printed on a Creme American Apparel T-Shirt and features halftones for depth and different shades of gray. Makes the perfect gift for any old school Mac fan or new school Apple fanboy! Cons: This is a no frills shirt so don’t expect fancy packaging or extra goodies but do expect a good quality screen print. Price: $18.00.

Co-Tee TV Episode 32: Milk & Eggs, Slide To Unlock and iPhones

Let me warn you beforehand that Episode 32 of Co-Tee TV is one fun episode! It ended up being very long as well, maybe because I can talk hours at a time about Apple products. And because of that I was very excited to review Slide To Unlock from Milk & Eggs Co. because the shirt is based on a device I could probably not live without – my iPhone! Hope you enjoy this episode, just one more day (and video) left until this week over!

Coty’s Thoughts:

Slide To Unlock by Milk & Eggs Co.. Pros: I absolutely adore this shirt and think the concept is brilliant. The shirt itself is printed on an American Apparel blank which is always a plus in terms of quality. I think any iPhone user would enjoy this shirt, it would make for a perfect gift! Custom hangtags add a professional touch and the added goodies in the package like the Milk & Eggs buttons and stickers are an awesome bonus. Cons: I have no complaints when it comes to this shirt. Price: $20.

The Macintosh

Print Liberation recently started a new series of T-Shirts featuring great moments of the twentieth century. The latest shirt in the series features the original Macintosh, circa, 1984. All I have to say is that I picked up this shirt as soon as I saw it for the first time. I love it! And I even own a vintage Macintosh, myself. This shirt makes me feel like dusting off that Mac, popping in the floppy and booting it up. I think I’ll do just that!

You can pick up The Macintosh from Print Liberation for $18.

Split Reason $50 Mac Vs. PC Giveaway

Sigh, this debate may never end. Nonetheless, you can score a $50 Split Reason gift certificate by coming up with the best and humorous logic explaining “why” their platform of choice stands above the other will win. Check out this blog post to see how you can win. Or, if you just want this shirt, you can by Witty Retort straight from SplitReason.com for $18.95.

As for me, the clear choice is the Macintosh platform. I’ve gotten into many heated discussions arguing for the Mac. I have stood by the Apple brand even during the dark years (mid 90’s anyone?). And I’ve converted a ton of friends to switch from PC’s to Mac’s. Simply put, I love the Mac platform and the Apple brand.

Why a Mac you ask? I’m going to bypass all of the minutiae and skip talking about processors, hardware, RAM, gaming capability (or lack of), buttons on the mouse, GUI, and ease of use. Instead, I’ll make just one simple point. Mac users just seriously love using their computers.

Slide To Unlock by Milk & Eggs Co.

Again, I owe it to Twitter because without it I would not have ever found this tee! I love stumbling across great new brands awesome T-Shirts. Slide To Unlock from Milk & Eggs Co. is just straight up cool. Or, as I put it in a tweet I made about the shirt, “it’s OMFG good!”

This design will probably bring a smile to any iPhone user but will likely resonate most with relationship seeking iPhone owners! You can pick up this shirt from Milk & Eggs Co. for $20, and yes, it is printed on an American Apparel shirt for a cool and comfy feel.

Co-Tee TV Episode 20: Exploded Macs, ShirtFight and Nightlights

In this episode I wear Exploded 128 by Garry Booth and review a tee from ShirtFight called You Might Need More Than Nightlight This TIme that was designed by Evanimal. ShirtFight is the newest online T-Shirt contest site and features a different themed ShirtFight every week to challenge designers.

This week I also start the summer long series on Ongoing T-Shirt Contest Sites. Every week, I will be reviewing a different tee from one of many different online contest sites. I’ll be discussing how each of these sites differ, how the submission and selection process work and what your rights are as a designer. This week we kick things off with ShirtFight!

You can also watch this episode on Vimeo, Viddler, YouTube, blip.tv and download and sync all episodes to your iPod or iPhone by subscribing for free to Co-Tee TV in the iTunes Store.

Coty’s Thoughts:

You Might Need More Than A Nightlight This Time by Evanimal. Good: Nice custom packaging and T-Shirts are individually packaged. This is the first ever winning tee at ShirtFight and so it makes a nice collectors item. Printed on an American Apparel tee so you know I like the fit, 5 color soft print, orders come with a ShirtFight thumb wrestling kit. Bad: I wish they went tagless. Price: $18.00.

Exploded 128 by Garry Booth

The Exploded 128 tee is the newest tee of the popular exploded style to hit the Internets. It was designed by illustrator Garry Booth and feature, arguably, the most influential personal computer ever created – the original Macintosh. Just to give you some perspective, when the Macintosh was unveiled on January 24, 1984, it featured an 8 MHz processor and 128 KB of RAM built in. Yes, 128 kilobytes. The street price for one of these cute beige beauties was $2495.00. Isn’t it amazing how far we’ve come in the past 25 years. As a side note, I actually own one of these guys. A teacher in high school had one lying around from his college years and I asked him if I could have it. And luckily for me, he passed it on.

The tee is available now for $18 and is printed on an American Apparel asphalt tee. And I have to say that the Apple fan in me is absolutely in love with this tee!

Gleenz Tees Laptop Skins

The oh so creative Glenn Jones has come up with an ingenious idea for his popular T-Shirt designs – laptop skins! And why not, people love originality and by slapping one of these skins on your laptop you will indeed achieve an originality. Just be ready for the constant ooogling by others (because people get jealous fast when they see awesome stuff) and the tirade of “Where’d yo get that” inquiries. The Glennz skins are available now for 13″ to 17″ laptops and sell for $17.95.

I also noticed, and thought that I would point this out, that a few of the skins sport some of Glenn Jones’ older Threadless designs – like one of my faves “What Would MacGyver do?” Interesting, huh!
