Co-Tee TV Episode 50: Loch Ness Monster, Supermandolini and Shooting Target

In this episode of Co-Tee TV I review I Believe In The Loch Ness Monster by EIO Clothing (Excess Is OK) and Shooting Target by Supermandolini. Based in Thessaloniki, Greece, Supermandolini is run by graphic designers Emanuel Lakoutsis and Ellie Kakoulidou who design and produce every product and aspect of Supermandolini.

Coty’s Thoughts:

Shooting Target by Supermandolini. Pros: Supermandolini sent me three matching Shooting Target pieces from the boutique: a graphic shirt, pendant, and poster print. First, all of the items work well together and are very cohesive. The tee is perfect for any guy and the pendant will look good on any girl. The shirt is printed on an American Apparel blank so the fit is great and the shirt is comfortably soft. The three color print on the tee extends to the bottom hem, a difficult technique to pull off . The design is very detail oriented – you’ll have people walking up to you just to read the text. Excellent packaging. The Shooting Target poster is hand numbered and limited to 100 pieces. Cons: I love the brand and the Shooting Target themed items, but they might just be a little too pricey for some. Price: €30 ($42 US)

Shooting Target

I Believe In The Loch Ness Monster by EIO Clothing. Pros: The first thing  you’ll notice when you touch and put on a tee from EIO Clothing is how soft it is. EIO Clothing has some of the most amazingly soft tees that I’ve ever reviewed, they just feel so great. Shirt is made from 100% esmeril cotton that is produced in Portugal and handprinted in the UK. Great type shirt, especially since I am infatuated by the Loch Ness Monster. If you know someone who enjoys myths and legends then they would probably appreciate this tee. Shirt features a custom embroidered tag on the lower left hem and a screen printed neck label. Cons: Neckline is a bit thin compared to traditionally cut shirts. Some of you might not like the raw edged sleeves. Pricey. Price: £24.95 ($39 US).

Shooting Target

I am so happy that this shirt saw the light of day. Designed by Manos Lakoutsis (he did the legendary Wingtips Threadless tee), Shooting Target went through a lot of drama (back and forth between the original printer) before being released at Supermandolini. I almost thought the design had been abandoned. Fortunately for us, Supermandolini worked things out and Shooting Target lives! Shooting Target is printed on an American Apparel tee and is available now for €30.00 from Supermandolini.

Co-Tee TV Episode 19: Wingtips, Ten Bills and Peaceful Primates

In this episode I wear Wingtips by Manos Lakoutsis and review a tee from Ten Bills called Bird Is My Best Friend that was designed by Doug Cowan. Ten Bills was founded on the idea that cool, fresh looking shirts should be made available for just 10 bucks. Ten Bills made that happen and now you can get fresh tees all year round for a stunningly affordable 10 bills.

Coty’s Thoughts:

Bird Is My Best Friend by Doug Cowan. Good: Great illustration from Doug Cowan, the shirt fits great, a little longer than American Apparel tees but that shouldn’t be a problem after the first wash. The tee is tagless for itch free comfort and features a screen printed neck label instead. The best part of the tee is it’s price – it’s cheap! This is a great shirt for anyone that’s into philosophy, animals or both! Bad: Not much, I was a bit skeptical about quality, at first, but the shirt is comparable to what other sites are selling at double the price. I’ll sure be picking up tees from Ten Bills in the future! Price: $10.00.

Bird Is My Best Friend by Ten Bills

Wingtips by Manos Lakoutsis for Threadless. This here is a classic Threadless tee. I’m not wearing a first edition, unfortunately, but still – great shirt! This one is actually printed on an American Apparel tee rather than the Threadless branded tee (I prefer the AA fit over the Threadless fit). Perfect shirt for any shoe snob. Price: $9.00 (available in very limited quantities and sizes).

Glorious Nonsensities 2×02: Failed Launch, 410BC and Skate Wolf

In this episode I wear Failed Launch by Manos Lakoutsis and review a tee sent to me by 410BC. The 410BC tee is called Skate Wolf and is a parody of the Michael J. Fox 1980’s classic,Teen Wolf. Sorry about the knocking midway though – I didn’t even notice it while recording, yikes! Enjoy with tea and a comfy tee!

Coty’s Thoughts:

Skate Wolf by 410BC. Good: Fancy custom packaging, did a good job of sewing on the custom hang tag, very soft and comfy tee, very complex print, lots of colors. Bad: A bit tight around the neck. Price: Currently Not Available for Purchase.

Failed Launch by Manos Lakoutsis. This week’s starter shirt is available for purchase from Threadless. I love the huge print!
