In this episode of Co-Tee TV I wear Melted by Desired Hearts and review Modern Art and Pirates from New Math by Craig Damrauer. The shirts are based on the popular website, More New Math, and the book written by Damrauer. The site, book and shirts feature witty equations for every day living.

Coty’s Thoughts:
Pirates and Modern Art by New Math.Pros: The New Math shirts by Craig Damrauer match the New Math website and book perfectly. Printed on American Apparel tees so you know that I dig the fit and feel of these shirts – super comfortable and soft. My shirts came packaged in a lovely New Math printed cardboard box. Excellent shirt for those who enjoy mathematics, typography or just fun witty one liners. Cons: Nothing really. The shirt is what it is and that is a compliment to the New Math book and website. Price: $20.
Remember the guys from Doubletake Clothing? Sure you do, they released the very popular Bears, Beets, Battlestar… tee early on this year. Well, they’re back. Sort of. This time the masterminds behind Doubletake Clothing has forged a new alliance with author/artist Craig Damrauer, of New Math fame.
“New Math started as an art book which was sold at MOMA and a number of other museum stores and boutiques in the US and Japan. In the fall CT Editions will publish a collection of New Math, edited by Ed Ruscha. New Math has been seen in GOOD Magazine, the New York Times Op-Ed page, Mother Jones and the German Greenpeace Magazine.”
If you haven’t checked out New Math: Equations for Living, I urge you to do so. I just picked up a copy from Amazon for a cheap $9.94 and am excited to see what other equations Craig has cooked up.
As far as the shirts go, yeah they’re simple -- they are supposed to be! They retain the “New Math” look and feel as seen in the book. My favorite from the bunch is the Modern Art equation shirt. Isn’t it so true? I think so. For an extra $5 you can even pick up an amazing collectors/gift box. Each of these environmentally friendly boxes features the New Math equation of the shirt.
Not directly associated to the shirts above but somewhat related. You YouTube fans will probably enjoy it:
Ok, I couldn’t help myself. I had to do an “epic list” post of my own. I haven’t attempted one before and it seems that people like them, so, why not? The hard part was figuring out a list topic that was fun enough for me to do because, as I had predicted, this would take forever to complete! I decided to tackle SCIENCE! And why not, I’m a dork when it comes to science stuff. I love science! Science is awesome. Science is my religion. And so if you’ve been hunting high and low in search of the perfect science infused T-Shirt, well, I’ve got a hundred (plus one) for you to choose from.
8 new Threadless tees this week -- Holy Batman! This episode is a woozy so be sure to watch it! My Threadless Pick of the Week is LightSaver by Marco Angeles because it just oozes awesomeness! But how did the rest rank? You must watch to find out, young padiwan.
Plus, don’t forget about the HUGE Threadless Back 2 Cool Sale! $8 Tees, say it with me, $EIGHT8 Dollar Tees!
2 + 3 = 5. But, you knew that already. If not, well, 1. I feel sorry for you and 2. you should be ashamed! All kidding aside, I’ve never been the best person to go to for math advice but this shirt does seem like math advice overkill if you ask me! Nonetheless, you need to appreciate the attention to detail that Ugmonk founder, Jeff Sheldon, puts into each one of his designs. His love for typography undoubtedly comes across in each one of his designs.
The recently restocked Math Problem tee is available now for sale at $21. But, my suggestion for you: pick one up now if you want one! After just a few days of being available stock is clearly running low. Hint: Use the coupon code COTY09 at checkout to save an additional 10% off your entire order!
I spotted these Google tees a while ago on the Every Loves Free Stuff blog, but it’s been sitting in my drafts folder and I just never got around to typing a blurb for it! Anyhow, love this mathematical infused Google company shirt that was distributed to employees to celebrate the workforce. Google, do you need a hardworking blogger? I’d love to be a part of your team. They also serve as a subtle and friendly reminder that functioning as a team player is a good thing when working at Google!
I absolutely love the newest tee from Robit Studios! It’s called Most Of You Are Average and it features a simple bell shaped curve. Now, if any of you have taken a course in statistics then you are probably very familiar with this “normal” curve. This very simply shape is actually very powerful and can tell us a lot about any given population.
Now, as a blogger, I hope that I don’t fall right smack down in the middle of the “T-Shirt blogging population.” I hope to fall at least two or three standard deviations to the right of the mean and towards awesomeness! In the world of blogging, those that stay at the peak of that bell shaped curve are easily forgotten. The goal is to be at the tail end of the curve (hopefully the positive end). Here are a few things that set this T-Shirt blog apart from the crowd:
1. Videos! Lots and lots of videos. Be sure to check out the latest episode of Co-Tee TV every Thursday and Coty Loves Threadless every Monday!
2. Attack of the Coupon Codes! Get the best deals from some of your favorite online tee shops right here.
3. Indie Tee Spotlight highlights the best brands and interviews the people that run those brands!
4. Honest, original reviews and rich content! Each post is built with thought. No copy and pasting of press releases here!
What are some things that you do for your job, hobby or life in general that keeps you away from that peak of mediocrity? Tell me why you are NOT average!

I spotted this awesome shirt at the Sharing Machine and I just had to share with you fine tee loving folks. It’s called Digits and it features Pi, you know, that awesomely long number that we learned about in grade school.
According to this shirt, designed by Drew & Natalie Dee, there are three types of people who recite Pi. Which category do you fall in? I most certainly fall into the “Most People” category!
You can pick up this shirt from the Sharing Machine for $16. They also have prints available for just $8. Men’s shirts are printed on 100%-cotton Gildan brand tees. Women’s shirts are printed on Bella 1001 fitted women’s tees.
