Spock and His Party Tricks

It just so happens that the other day I re-watched the J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Trek for the first time since seeing it in the theaters. I watched it on blu-ray and I have to say that I liked it this time around just as much as I did when I first saw it in the theaters. Watching it again made me realize how perfect the casting choice for Spock really was.

Speaking of Spock, Glenn Jones of Glennz Tees just released his newest parody tee featuring Spock and his familiar hand gesture. Live long and …. party? The shirt is called Party Trick and from the looks of the design it looks like our seemingly emotionless friend is up to some tomfoolery. Know a Trekkie in need of a Christmas present? This will make for the perfect gift!

Paper Root Clothing Tri-Blends

Paper Root Clothing has released a ton of new tees printed on American Apparel Tri-Blend blanks. American Apparel Tri-Blend tees are some of the softest shirts I’ve worn, they are also a bit more slim fitting. Nonetheless, they feel really good! The new releases from Paper Root has got me really excited. There were a bunch of designs that I really dug, including their Mystical Seahorse tee and the Escape from DC tee (a parody of the Escape From New York/Escape from L.A. movies but featuring Abraham Lincoln as Snake). But you know how much I enjoy type tees so I just had to throw in their WIN tee, which isn’t necessarily a new release but that certainly doesn’t take away from it’s awesomeness.

The new Paper Root tees are priced at $20 a piece and are available now for consumption, err, I mean purchase!

It’s What’s On The Inside That Counts

Dutch Southern continues with their movie themed shirts with this beauty, It’s What’s On The Inside That Counts. Hollywood tends to feature the glitz, glamour and beauty but this shirt is the exact opposite. It’s What’s On The Inside That Counts features some of films more “colorful” characters. In other words, the ugly dudes. This shirt is a who’s who of facial feature deficient characters of films past. I love it!

It’s What’s On The Inside That Counts was designed by artist Andrew Gregory (aka lunchboxbrain) and is printed on a silver American Apparel tee and is available now from Dutch Southern for $19.

Where The Wild Thing Is

Where The Wild Thing Is is the newest tee from Crispy Tees and is an obviously parody on the popular children’s book, Where The Wild Things Are. The release of the shirt coincidently (or maybe not so much) precedes the release of the much anticipated film adaptation of the same name. If Crispy Tees is new to you, think of them as a classier T-Shirt Hell. They’ve got provocative tees, but not so provocative that it will cause someone to want to punch you in the face.

The shirt is printed on a brown American Apparel tee and is available now from Crispy Tees for $18.

One Eyed Willie

The Goonies is one of my favorite movies of all time! It’s one of those movies from my childhood that I would watch over and over and over again. I remember the first time I watched The Goonies, my dad had brought it home after “testing out” the local video store. I was super excited and blown away by this movie. Thanks, Dad!

One Eyed Willie is in reference to the fictional pirate that died on the The Inferno. Of course, if you’ve watched the movie, kids set out on a hunt to find One Eyed Willie and his fortune to save their town from being bought out and demolished and then all hell breaks loose. The Goonies is such a wonderful film, if you haven’t it already seen it then add it to your Netflix queue today!

You can pick up One Eyed Willie from SnorgTees today for $18.95.

I’m Getting Too Old For…

Growing up in the 80′s, my mom loved the Lethal Weapon series of movies, though I think she secretly watched it just to see Mel Gibson. Nonetheless, I had my share of Lethal Weapon re-runs on HBO and TNT and playbacks on VHS. More recently, she purchased the entire Lethal Weapon collection on DVD. My mom is progressive so that means she’ll probably be picking up the series once more on Blu-ray in the next 2-3 years. Did I mention that she already owns the movies in both VHS and DVD formats?

Anyhow, check out this shirt from Crispy Tees, a joint venture from the guys collectively known in the T-Shirt and design communities as The Black Axe. The shirt features Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) with a twist to his usual catchline. Too Old For This Shirt is printed on an American Apparel blank and is available now from Crispy Tees for $18.00.

Product Placement by Josh Eacret

So I just got through watching the newest episode of The Totally Rad Show (I’m a huge fan) and I couldn’t help but notice the shirt that Dan Trachtenberg had on. A little Google voodoo-ery and I was able to track down the shirt that sparked my interest. It’s called Product Placement and it was designed by Josh Eacret for Dutch Southern. This turned out to be a pretty cool find since Dutch Southern produces excellent T-Shirts that parodies some of my favorite movies.

When I first saw the shirt, I thought it was a rip off of the popular Spoilt shirt from Threadless and designed by Olly Moss. But on closer inspection, I couldn’t figure out any of the movies. It turns out, the individual illustrations are fictional logos/brands from movies, and hence the name, Product Placement. Brilliant! I don’t want to spoil the shirt for those of you that want to try and figure out what logos came from what movies so I won’t mention any of the movies featured on the shirt. Instead, if you’d like to know the entire run down of the products and the movie that they are taken from then definitely check out the product page at Dutch Southern. And while you’re there, you can pick up Product Placement for $19.
