I really love when brands give us a behind the scenes look at their design process and inspirations. It’s so fun to see something go from concept to finish product, and I can only imagine what it feels like to be involved in such a project. And so I was pretty stoked when our friend, Mr. Easybake himself, posted his latest blog entry. In the post, he shows off the design process that went into making his latest collaboration tee with Nick Automatic.
When it comes to designing on the other hand things are not so easy. If there’s anyone who would agree with me, it is my dear friend Nicolo Nimor. We started discussing our second collaboration together back in November and the design process was lengthy to say the least. I am the biggest sucker for a behind the scene look of designing and I am glad Nicolo let me into his creative world. There is something intimate about watching the steps an artist takes in order to bring his vision to life. -Oven Fresh Dreams
The Collaborate & Dream Series: Nicolo Nimor/Nick Automatic Part 2 is available now for sale at Oven Fresh Dreams for $24.99. If you are interested in picking one up, be sure to do so soon because a very limited amount were printed (35 made for US customers and 70 made for international customers).

You remember my friend Carlos J. EasyBake, right? He not only makes wonderful baked goods, but is also the purveyor of some damn sexy T-Shirts. Carlos has really been pumping out some awesome stuff with the Oven Fresh Dreams “Collaborate & Dream” Series. Oven Fresh Dreams isn’t a clothing brand per se, but OFD does collaborate with some of the best indie designers. You just need to look at his recent collaborations with Reuben Levi of GRITS Apparel, Nick Automatic and Filipino designer Chad Manzo to see how serious OFD really is. The latest OFD shirt is called Gritty Dreams and was a collaboration between a friend that he made while living in Houston, Texas.
“Levi (GRITS designer & owner) & I have been good friends for several months now. We met through mutual friends while I living in Houston. We instantly gained respect for each other during one of my weekly dinner parties. The “Gritty Dreams” collaboration shows the connection between the New York City & Houston lifestyles. It also symbolizes the bond I made with Levi & Houston. We are both dreamers, who know how to keep it trill & you can too!” – Carlos J. Easybake
The Oven Fresh Dreams X GRITS Apparel tee, Gritty Dreams comes in two colorways. The New York Knicks colorway (top) is available at Oven Fresh Dreams for $20, while the Houston Oilers (bottom) colorway is available over at GRITS Apparel for $25.
Below are two sneak peeks at some upcoming Oven Fresh Dreams pieces. The purple Star Wars / Legend of Zelda mashup was designed by Filipino artist Chad Manzo. Below that, is the second Oven Fresh Dreams X Nick Automatic collaboration tee. I’ve got their first collab tee, and trust me when I say that I want version 2.0.
I’ll keep you guys updated and let you all know when these two go on sale. Keep an eye out! Now, go bake stuff.

To say that Nick Automatic is killing would probably be an understatement. Nick Automatic founder, Nicolo Nimor, has been hustling like crazy in his native Philippines and has built up quite a following in his homeland (and beyond). Not content with the occasional pop up shop, Nick Automatic will now have it’s own dedicated shop in Cebu City, Philippines.
Nimor plans to open the doors to his newest venture this Thursday, September 24. He even posted a sneak peak of his shop on the official Nick Automatic Facebook page. Though still a work in progress, I have to say that things are looking pretty tight. Hopefully I can nudge Nicolo into sending me a few more photos of his shop and of the grand opening?! Nicolo, you there? While we wait for those photos, check out some of the upcoming Nick Automatic tees below.
If you live in the Cebu City area or will be visiting the Philippines sometime in the near future then be sure to stop by the Nick Automatic Doodle Shop:

Nick Automatic is a new brand from Philippines based artist, Nicolo Nimor. The brand features 3 fresh new tees featuring, with 2 of the 3 featuring the Nick Automatic character. Pencil Crew, my favorite from the bunch, shows off Nick Automatic in all of his glory in crossbones like imagery but with pencils instead. The Citrus Club tee reminds me a little bit of some of the recent offerings from Johnny Cupcakes. And the third tee is an obvious spoof of the Cleveland Indians mascot. What do all the three tees have in common? They all feature exposed tongues. Looks like the tongue wagging will be a staple in the Nick Automatic brand – i like it!
I love what I see from Nick Automatic and am really excited to see future designs. The illustrations have a feel good feeling to them and that should come to no surprise since Nimor originally did illustrations for children’s book. The tees are priced at $18 a piece and you can pick one up from the Nick Automatic store.
