This fun little shirt was spotted over at the popular online game site OMGPOP. I have no idea what the pandas are in reference to, though I have to assume that they are characters from one of the many OMGPOP games. I’m not a big online game player so I wouldn’t know. I was actually just browsing the OMGPOP website because my roommate, who is addicted to these online flash game websites, happened to be on OMGPOP.
I took a look at their blog (after I registered at OMGPOP and played a little BALLOONO*) to see what was up and then I noticed that they had a few T-Shirts for sale. Domestic Pandas caught my eye. I found the thought of “domestic” pandas to be quite hilarious. Not sure why. Maybe it’s because pandas are so damn lazy. They are slow moving. All they do is eat. And eat. And eat. And they eat bamboo no less. But don’t let that fool you. I’ve heard that pandas can be just as crazy as their mono-colored American counterparts aka the brown bear aka Ursus arctos.
And because I’m in a fact giving mood, here are 10 strange and weird panda factoids:
A panda’s diet is 99% bamboo.
Beneath a pandas white fur their skin is black and beneath the black fur their skin is pink.
It takes baby pandas 50-60 days after birth before they can open their eyes.
A panda tooth is seven times bigger than a human tooth.
They spend up to 16 hours a day eating.
A panda cub is about the size of a croissant.
Pandas bleat like goats rather than roaring like bears.
Oh my Panda! The Accent is such a wonderful shirt from 110specialblack and was the winning tee for this weeks ShirtFight theme, “Black, White, And???”! The panda is killer cute, love it! And that red robin, oh you inconspicuous little red robin. Sitting on top of that panda ever so innocently. The quiet ones are always the ones that you should keep your eyes on.Â
Congratulations to 110specialblack for being the $500 ShirtFight winner for this week. If you’ve got the chomps to hand out the beat down (just like 110specialblack did this week) then head on over to ShirtFight and get started on your winning design for this upcoming week. The Accent is available now from ShirtFight for $15 (that’s the special one week only sale price, so get it now).Â
And of course, with every winner comes a new ShirtFight theme. This week is no different and the theme for all of you aspiring designers is “Video Games Vs. ?”. Good luck to all those who enter!
Here’s a great and fun little iPhone app that I just discovered while perusing the Threadless forum boards. Developed by Threadless user Ian Marsh (eeenmachine), Threads allows you to easily browse in-stock designs at Threadless straight from the iPhone or iPod Touch.
Not only can you browse Threadless tees, but you can buy tees directly from within the App (ok, this is a stretch, the app forwards you to the Threadless site via Safari). The app also makes use of the accelerometer – you are shown a different tee design every time you shake the phone while the app.
Even cooler, you can save these beautiful designs directly to your iPhone by tapping on the camera icon. Onc you click the camera icon all onscreen menus disappear and your left just with the design. From there you use the screen capture trick and then images are saved to your photo album and can then be used as Wallpaper for your iPhone! Pretty slick little app, I think! The app itself is snappy and works excellently on my first generation iPhone.
