Think About It: Dress Royale

Think About It. That’s one of the first things that I thought about when I saw the goods over at Dress Royale. The designers really thought about their designs and how it relates to what is going on around the world. They thought about the messages that they wanted to convey and then they implemented it with art. Dress Royale is inspiring. I dig this brand.

The first shirt that caught my eye is called Sleep and it’s about the pharmaceutical industry. An industry that I feel is very corrupt. Sleep is available now for $18.

“For the first time ever, in 2006, global spending on prescription drugs topped $643 billion. The United States accounts for almost half of the global pharmaceutical market, with $289 billion in annual sales followed by the EU and Japan.”

I too can be guilty of succumbing to a marketing campaign. We all consume more than we should at times. Some of us take unnecessary consumption to a whole other level. Consume is available now for $18.

“Brainwashing refers to a systematic process in which manipulative methods are used to distort an individual’s sense of control over their own thinking, behavior, emotions or decision making.”

I am one that can actually appreciate a good ad. I really enjoy a great ad when I see one, which is rarely. Place Your Ad is available for $18.

“In 2010, spending on advertising was estimated at more than $300 billion in the United States and $500 billion worldwide.”

Coty’s Thoughts:

Maggie’s Pharm Tee by Dead Bury Dead. Pros: Top notch packaging, with the T-Shirt safely wrapped in a plastic bag, tissue paper and a custom Dead Bury Dead Box – the box is even further wrapped in a separate custom plastic bag. T-Shirt comes packaged with Dead Bury Dead stickers and pins. Faux Dead Bury Dead prescription slip adds an extra element of cool. Dead Bury Dead definitely goes all out with the pharmacy/death/dying theme. Maggie’s Pharm tee is tagless and features a very large custom screen printed neck label. The shirts also features Dead Bury Dead logo print on the upper back portion of the tee. I really dig how Dead Bury Dead goes all out with their theme, from the box to the T-Shirts to the included extras. Great price for what you get! Cons: The front screen print is a bit thick. For me, this design in particular is the weak link in an otherwise strong line. I think the other Dead Bury Bead designs (see below for link to some of my favorites) are far superior to Maggie Pharm Tee. Price: $16.99.

Blue Canham by Jack Johnson Music. Pros: I love the throwback retro look of this T-Shirt. I would have preferred a color other than baby blue. T-Shirt is a 100% organic cotton blank. Price: $15.

Visit The Tee Clinic

One of the best things about the Tee Clinic is the actual site itself. I love the site design, it’s fun, inviting and best of all you get a nice view of the featured tees! The Tee Clinic is a fun project that was started by Scotland based graphic design student, Euan Gallacher. Euan is the self proclaimed T-Shirt doctor due to his healthy love for that cotton goodness known as the T-Shirt.

The site isn’t the only eye candy, the shirts designed by Euan are not shabby at all, they’re actually pretty awesome. I’ve included a couple of my Tee Clinic favorite here of for you to checkout! His designs are very loud, colorful and features large prints. The tees are printed on Alstyle blanks and are priced at $19.99.
