I absolutely love the newest tee from Robit Studios! It’s called Most Of You Are Average and it features a simple bell shaped curve. Now, if any of you have taken a course in statistics then you are probably very familiar with this “normal” curve. This very simply shape is actually very powerful and can tell us a lot about any given population.Â
Now, as a blogger, I hope that I don’t fall right smack down in the middle of the “T-Shirt blogging population.” I hope to fall at least two or three standard deviations to the right of the mean and towards awesomeness! In the world of blogging, those that stay at the peak of that bell shaped curve are easily forgotten. The goal is to be at the tail end of the curve (hopefully the positive end). Here are a few things that set this T-Shirt blog apart from the crowd:
1. Videos! Lots and lots of videos. Be sure to check out the latest episode of Co-Tee TV every Thursday and Coty Loves Threadless every Monday!
2. Attack of the Coupon Codes! Get the best deals from some of your favorite online tee shops right here.Â
3. Indie Tee Spotlight highlights the best brands and interviews the people that run those brands!
4. Honest, original reviews and rich content! Each post is built with thought. No copy and pasting of press releases here!
What are some things that you do for your job, hobby or life in general that keeps you away from that peak of mediocrity? Tell me why you are NOT average!Â
You have 3 chances to win. Answer the above and do one of the three things below and get one entry, do two of the below and you get two entries and if you do all three then you get the maximum 3 entries and 3 chances to win!
1. Leave your answer in the comments section here in the blog.

“From the intricate and symbolic effects of Light Grenades and ACLOTM album covers to the simple beauty of the coastline on Morning Views, the music of Incubus is expressed through a range of visual styles.
Brandon Boyd’s design for the Monuments and Melodies album cover is the latest Incubus creation that underscores their potent connection to art.
DBH caught up with Incubus in L.A. a couple weeks ago and introduced them to the DesignByHumans community. The band loved what they saw and are eager to add some hÃœman touch to their world by participating in our next sponsored contest.”
The popular French T-Shirt contest site, laFraise, is holding a special contest with  one of the most popular producers of rum, Bacardi. I have to admit that I have had my share of Bacardi 151 shots so I am definitely no stranger to this Bermuda based spirits company.Â
Your mission for the contest is to create 2 typical characters representing the personality of BACARDI LIMÃ’N and BACARDI RAZZ, two of their popular flavored rums.Â
Bacardi will host an exhibition in Hamburg, Germany on July 11 featuring 10 to 15 design entries. A winning design will be chosen for both the BACARDI LIMÃ’N and BACARDI RAZZ characters. Each winner will receive 3000 € for his design. Please see below for the official rules.Â

After you’ve emailed me, leave a comment in this post and finish this sentence:
“I Love T-Shirts Because…”
Please do not place direct link to the T-Shirts if you’ve figured out the answer!
This contest will last just a day and ends on Wednesday (June 3, 2009) at Midnight (Hawaii Time). Be sure to get your entry in by then!
UPDATE: CONTEST IS DONE! Winners will be announced this Friday (June 5, 2009)!
I haven’t blogged much about A Better Tomorrow, mainly because I don’t understand German, but I did think this would be of interest to the designers that read this blog. The German T-Shirt design competition site is having a special A Better Tomorrow Meets Art Bastard shirt contest that runs until May 25. Winner will receive 500 € cash and 100 buttons of featuring their design. I was just checking out A Better Tomorrow and they have some amazing tees, I will definitely be visiting that site more often!
The theme for this special contest with Art Bastard is “We Love Art”, which, seems general enough for you folks to come up with something amazingly cool. For those of you unfamiliar with Art Bastard, they are a website that feature urban contemporary art and culture – a site that’s definitely worth checking out. See below for official rules to the contest.
Congratulations to Evanimal for winning the first ShirtFight with his entry, You Might Need More Than A NightLight This Time! Evanimal took home the $2009 prize and you can pick up his design for just 15 bucks. I have to admit that I am huge fan of ShirtFight’s product shots -- love them!Â
Check out the official announcement in the video below and find out what this weeks new Shirt Fight theme is (hint: it has to with ANIMALS and PEOPLE)!
Calling all designers – get ready for the newest tee design contest site to hit InternetLAND. The name of the site is ShirtFight and it was started by husband and wife duo looking to improve on the current crop of tee design competition sites. They’ve done their research and have also approached designers for their input as to what they would like to see in a competition site. Although the site is not officially open (they open on March 5), you can sign up to receive a 5 day advance notice of the first design challenge.Â
Miss Etti, one part of the founding couple, sent me ShirtFight’s pledge to the tee design community:
We’re going to keep things fun, that’s important to us. We’re doing weekly themed competitions, and we’ll keep them interesting. And we aren’t just going to throw cash at the winner and call it a day…that’s boring! I can’t give you any details just yet (it’s hush hush), but we have a lot of great ideas to put a smile on the faces of our artists and community members every day.
We’ll always keep our community priority #1. We’re nothing without you guys! That’s why we’re going to keep the lines of communication open, constantly ask for your opinions and feedback, and do what we can to make this the most artist-focused t-shirt design competition site out there!
We want to keep the individuality and the uniqueness for our community (the artists *and* the customers)…and to achieve that we’re never going to carry more than 21 shirts at any given time. It drives me nuts to see hundreds of pages of shirts on a site…it’s like being lost in a sea of tees! By showcasing the very best designs, we get to focus everyone’s attention to the talents of the artist. Plus, if we only carry a select number of designs at a time, this eliminates the “Damn, everyone is wearing a Threadless t-shirt!” syndrome.
The weekly cash prize will be $500, but in celebration of their launch, the first contest will be two weeks long with the winner receiving $2009 cash! Pretty awesome, eh! And think about it, your chances to win at ShirtFight might be better than at some of the more crowded and established competition sites. Why not try ShirtFight out when it opens on March 5 – are you up for a good fight?Â
