hitRECord.org is a mass collaborative production company led by its founder, and director, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known on hitRECord as RegularJOE. All the merchandise found at THE RECORD STORE was made collaboratively on hitRECord. And all profits made at THE RECORD STORE are shared with the contributing artists per The hitRECord Accord. Neat!
I first stumbled upon hitRECord when they released their Tiny Book of Tiny Stories. I thought, to myself, oh, “Joseph Gordon-Levitt is writing books now.” It turns out that he’s been doing much more than that. Gordon-Levitt has been “directing” this open collective production company of creative artists that have been churning out some really great stuff. The idea is that you can upload an idea or work in progress or “record” as they call it on hitRECord and other people can download and edit your “record.” If your record goes into production then all profits will be split by all of the collaborators. In their first year, hitRECord split $50,000 amongst its various collaborators. Awesome!

I’ve been a fan of Fur Face Boy (and its founder Ha Mai) for some time now. I’ve always enjoyed his designs, the story behind each design, and the passion that he puts into every aspect of his brand. Fur Face Boy is the real deal and his latest release, Series 6, proves it. I love how each of his designs are inspired by something that he loves, from childhood to adulthood. How can you not appreciate THAT?
With Series 6, Fur Face Boy continues with his T-Shirt madness and expands with a zip-up hoodie, polo, and sweater. The T-Shirts have the usual Fur Face Boy charm, meaning there’s a nice mix of fun parody and original designs. I love it! And how awesome is that Bear Mai T-shirt? Better cop that one, it’ll go fast!
RANDOM: That Street Fighter parody logo T-Shirt might make for a cool gift for a friend of mine that is trying to collect the Street Fighter KidRobot series. I still can’t believe he bought a box of 20 for $200! heck, this T-Shirt would be perfect for any kid that grew up playing fighting games in the 90′s!
Fur Face Boy goes the extra mile with his super fun Springfield T-Shirt. If you don’t know what this T-Shirt is parodying then I never want to speak to you, ever. It’s The Simpsons! I have a feeling that this shirt will be quite popular. Also, Astro Fur makes his triumphant return!
For those not into the parody stuff, Fur Face Boy has got you covered. If you’re looking for something with a bit more street wear flare, I suggest you check out the Crest, Argyle, and Floral print.
Series 6 isn’t available just yet, but it will be soon:

If I lived in Texas then I would totally be there. I’ll be there in spirit!
I really wish I had spotted these Slow Loris T-Shirts at Fab.com sooner rather than later. As it stands, you guys only have a little less than 7 hours to grab these neat Slow Loris T-Shirts. I was too slow and therefore missed out and that AWESOME Johnny 5 Robot T-Shirt. Who didn’t love Short Circuit growing up in the 1980′s? Slow Loris started in an old cannery building in Oakland, but now creates super-hip and handcrafted T-shirts on Guemes Island, Washington. Its designers never design or print digitally and that means that everything is screenprinted by hand with love.
The Slow Loris tees are priced at $16 a piece, that’s 38% off the retail price of $26.00. Remember, Fab.com is invite only so if you’re not already a member, here’s an invite from ME to YOU. *Shipping to Hawaii requires an additional $25 per order. Come on Fab, can we get this fixed. It doesn’t cost $25 to ship to Hawaii. I know because I live here!
The mad scientist’s over at Doctor Hazmat recently released their latest tee, Happy M.A.C., featuring the ever joyful Doctor Hazmat sidekick, M.A.C. You may remember, M.A.C. from Co-Tee TV a few episodes ago, he’s the long time friend, and assistant to Doctor Hazmat and incidentally the Doc’s first creation. M.A.C. stands for Multi-purpose Autonomous Cyborg, but it could easily also stand for Most Awesome Cyborg! M.A.C. is definitely a cute little creature, so be sure to keep your eyes on him!
“M.A.C. is always assisting Doctor Hazmat in the lab, and things don’t always go as planned. He’s been blown up, eaten, ran over… lets just say he’s been through a lot. But today is his lucky day. The Doc has given him a day off! YIPPEEEE!”
Doctor Hazmat tees are known for their big designs and bold color combinations, but as you can see, Hello M.A.C. is more on the subtle side. The grey design on the slate American Apparel T-Shirt is a refreshing variation to the other Doctor Hazmat designs.
The nerd level of both of these videos are pretty intense. So, proceed and watch with caution.
Despite both of these T-Shirt “folding machines” not being the most parsimonious way of folding a T-Shirt, you’ve got to admit that the creation of a such a device is pretty damn cool. Especially when you consider that they were built with LEGO pieces. Now would I ever get around to making such a thing? Probably not.
By the way, someone should inform Sheldon Cooper about this device. Something tells me that he would dig it.
And for you strange people who swear that K’NEX is superior to LEGO, I’ve got a video for you too:
Pssssssst. I’m going to let you in on a secret. Gama-Go is having a 24 hour sale, starting tomorrow (September 23) and all hoodies will be priced at just $44. That’s insane, considering that Gama-Go hoodies are normally priced at $64. Go save yourself $20 and pick up a hoodie (or two) tomorrow.
And so you might be wondering, what the heck will I do with that extra $20?! I know, why don’t you pick up a pair of Gama-Go T-Shirts to go with that new hoodie. If you use the coupon code TWOTEES44 at checkout, you will score two tees of your choice for just $44. And with tees normally priced at $28, you’ll end up saving another $12!
Yeah, someone made a T-Shirt with a beer bottle opener built in. No, I’m not kidding. And although this is not the end of civilization, I think we might be getting close. Speaking of built-in bottle openers, have you seen those slippers (flip-flops for you mainland folks) with the built in bottle openers? I could not even fathom opening an ice cold lager with the germ ridden underside of a slipper. Nasty! N-A-S-T-Y!
So compared to the slipper with the build-in bottle opener, I guess the BeerBot isn’t that bad. Unless of course you use your T-Shirt to wipe your snot.
Regular readers of this blog know that I am a diehard Apple fan. Having said that, it hurts me just a little bit to post this Exploded Andy T-Shirt by the people who have brought us the other exploded classics. The latest exploded tee features that famous little green robot that populates … Android based phones. I know that there are a few of you Android users that read this blog and so this, my friends, is dedicated to you!
PS: I’m not exactly sure of the origin of the “Andy” name for the little green Android robot. I tried googling information on the name of the Android robot and nothing regarding Andy came up. Anyone have any idea about this Andy name? If I had to guess, it is in reference to Android co-founder, Andy Rubin. Thoughts?
The newest tee from the Chop Shop is pretty killer. Instead of a design comprised of 50 or so silhouettes, they have a design that features 19 funny, mock coupons! If you’re a tech nerd or web geek, you’ll find at least one coupon here that will tickle your funny bone.
The Chop Shop is offering the aptly named The Coupon Tee in 5 different colors (Eggplant, Silver, Cranberry, Orange, White). The shirt is available now for sale for $20 ($2 Â extra for American Apparel tees).
“19 various coupons for tech nerds and web enthusiasts. Special offers not seen on any other t-shirts anywhere! They range from 30% the droids you are looking for to 50% off any 1 ring of power in either styles for men or dwarves. Other offers will get your mom off Facebook and make it so that someone sees one of your tweets. Order it now and start taking advantage of all the glorious offers!”
Disclaimer: Not all offers valid and cutting coupons out of shirt will render shirt full of holes.
