Massive List of Black Friday T-Shirt Deals and Steals

Well you guys requested it and the Massive List of Black Friday Deals and Steals is here! I’ve been getting a lot of email and tweets from people asking me to either post about their Black Friday sale or whether or not I would do a list of Black Friday deals. I was going to wait until Thanksgiving, but since a few of these can be had RIGHT NOW and since the deals are already floating around the Internet (see Emptees and Hide Your Arms), I decide against waiting.

In any case, here you go, the annual list of Black Friday Deals and Steals! I’ll be updating this post as the week progresses and more sales pop up. If you’ve got a Black Friday sale planned or you’re already doing something then be sure to let me know and I will post it. ALL the sales is also viewable on the “SALE” page in the menu, which I brought back for the holiday season. Enjoy!

5 Threadless Secrets and Hacks Revealed: See It All and Earn Extra StreetTeam Points!

Threadless: it’s fun and it’s social. It also has its secrets. In this post I reveal a few of my favorite Threadless “secrets” and “hacks” so that you can save some extra cash on some fresh new tees. How does $2 for a Threadless tee sound? I’ll also show you how you can give YOURSELF a few extra StreetTeam Points every time you make a purchase!

1. See Every Threadless T-Shirt, Ever [Secret]

That’s right, you can view every T-Shirt that Threadless has released in chronological order by visiting this page right here. They don’t advertise this page in any way (you won’t be able to find it within their site menus or navigation system, but nonetheless, it’s there if you get the inkling to stroll down memory lane. By the way, if you really want the scoop on the earliest Threadless tees, the best thing to do is to pick up a copy of the official Threadless Book (read my review). The retail price is $22 but you can get it for $15 from Threadless directly, it’s even cheaper than Amazon! Tip: Apply Hack #3 below and the book becomes $12.

2. Score a $7 Threadless coupon [Hack]

Coupon codes are hard to come by when it comes to Threadless. Googling “Threadless Coupon Code” will probably results in a bunch of expired coupon codes that simply do not work. BUT I know how YOU can score a $7 Threadless coupon code.

In order to score the $7 Threadless coupon, you must sign up for the Threadless Newsletter using the sign up box see in the image below. You’re already receiving the newsletters and have been for a while now? That’s not a problem, just sign up again and you will still get the $7 coupon, even if you’ve previously signed up for the newsletter. They’ll send you a confirmation email with the $7 coupon – zing! And don’t worry about SPAM because Threadless doesn’t SPAM, but do expect a newsletter from them every Monday and Thursday regarding new tees. Of course, you could always sign up for the newsletter, score the $7 coupon and then unsubscribe from the newsletter.

3. Give YOURSELF Threadless StreetTeam points [Hack]

Threadless has an affiliate system that they call StreetTeam Points. Basically, every time you refer a sale, you get Threadless StreetTeam Points. More specifically, you get 2 StreetTeam points ($3) credited to your account (you can see how many StreetTeam Points you’ve accrued in your account page on the Threadless website) for every sale that you refer to Threadless. Neat, but what if you buy more Threadless tees than your friends do? The thing is that the system doesn’t care whether or not it’s you or a friend making a purchase. So every time you make a Threadless purchase be sure to give YOURSELF some Streetteam Points. How? Let’s say you want the awesome Three Keyboard Cat Moon T-Shirt. The link that you see on the product page is:

http://www.threadless.com/product/1960/Three_Keyboard_Cat_Moon

Now before you click “Add To Cart”, you want to be sure to append your StreetTeam information to the url. My Streetteam info is ?streetteam=iCoty so if I add this to the url above, I get:

http://www.threadless.com/product/1960/Three_Keyboard_Cat_Moon?streetteam=iCoty

Boom, there’s $3 right back at me (and you)!

4. Pay $2 for a $5 Threadless Tee [Hack]

The above hack becomes especially useful when Threadless has a $5 dollar sale. But the best part is that you don’t have to wait for a stinking $5 sale that comes around once in a cat moon, errr, blue moon. Threadless has a large selection of $5 tees that become $2 when the above principles are applied. To view the selection of vulnerable $5 tees visit the link below:

http://www.threadless.com/catalog/type,guys/price,5

Since you get $3 back for every T-Shirt you buy, you are effectively purchasing a Threadless tee for just $2. Crazy, huh?! They currently have 26 available tees priced at $5 that you can have for $2 by applying the principles from Hack #3 above!

Note: Threadless only gives you the 2 StreetTeam Points ($3) for every order referred, not per shirt referred. So, whether you order 1 T-Shirt or 5 T-Shirts at once, you will still get just 2 StreetTeam Points.

5. Threadspot and Earn Points [Secret]

So Threadless does this thing called Threadspotting. Basically, you spot a Threadless tee in the wild (in person, in a video, magazine, etc) being worn by someone of stature (aka a celebrity) and Threadless will send you StreeTeam points if you email them photographic proof of said Threadspotting. It’s a secret because Threadless doesn’t advertise this on their official StreetTeam page so it’s not officially listed as a way to earn StreetTeam Points. And also, although a new edition of Threadspotting is supposed to come out every Friday, there hasn’t been one since August of this year. So who knows if they are still giving out StreetTeam points for Threadspotting, but it’s worth a shot. Seen a celebrity wearing a Threadless tee while perusing PerezHilton.com? Send it over to Threadless and MAYBE they’ll send you some StreetTeam Points. By the way, the amount of StreetTeam points is a secret, it’s unconfirmed and unlisted on the site. For examples, visit:

http://www.threadless.com/sightings

Email your Threadspotting proof to:

sightings@threadless.com

Do you know something about the Threadless website that I don’t know? I’d love to hear what YOUR Threadless secret or hack is? Leave them in the comments and I’ll be sure to include them in the next edition of Threadless Revealed! I’d also love to hear what YOU think of the above secrets and hacks!

Diary of a T-Shirt Intern: Selling Offline

Diary of a T-Shirt Intern is a weekly column written by Bo, a T-Shirt blogger at Loving This Tee who is also affectionately known in the tee community as dunz0. Bo will be tracking her experiences as an intern at Tilteed and sharing her thoughts on the strange land that is Portland, Oregon!

So we finally did it. We got away from the office and sold some t-shirts in person!

There’s this event in Portland called Last Thursday, where a bunch of vendors, musicians, and artists come out and set up along Alberta Street every last Thursday of the month (as the name suggests). The street gets closed down for several blocks for about 4-5 hours, and it’s absolute madness but in a good way. The first time that I attended Last Thursday was in June but that was only to browse. This time, we would be selling our tees.

Tilteed

In preparing for this event, one of our main questions was how many different designs and how many of each size to bring. That’s a very tough question, especially when you can’t exactly gauge what the shoppers’ tastes are. We had a lineup of eight catalog tees that we stocked in every size, along with leftover Tilteed Limited stock and several random sizes of other catalog pieces. We have experimented with some designs by bringing one or two of them so that we can see our customers’ responses. Every venue will be different, though, so I doubt that we’ll get a good formula for doing this.

When we first tried out selling at small events, I was initially worried about having black shirts sitting out in the sun. I once kept a Doberman Beanie Baby in my mom’s car, and over time that dog was no longer black. That was a silly story that I should probably be embarrassed about, but I think it’s a good explanation of why you should not let your products sit in direct sunlight for too long. We ended up getting a tent after our very first event, though, so problem solved!

Tilteed

Before we started selling Tilteed t-shirts at small fairs in Portland, I had never had any sales experience. Most of the jobs that I have held have been research positions, and the closest that I have gotten to selling anything for pay was when I worked at Subway back in high school. Well, that and when I hustled hard as a little 5th grader trying to sell $200+ worth of gift wrapping paper and other useless, overpriced junk from a school catalog in order to get a Magic 8 Ball in return.

So along with having no sales experience, I’m also not a big people person and rarely approach strangers just to say hello. Because of this, I was rather shocked to learn that I like selling t-shirts offline. Actually, I’m going to say that I don’t like it but that I absolutely 100% LOVE it! It was great getting to converse with everyone who came up to our tent and talk about all of our designs and the artists who created them!

Tilteed

One thing that I’ve learned is that if someone looks in your direction, even for a second from 15 feet away, you should greet them. If you do, there’s a high possibility that they’ll approach you and look at what you have to offer. Sometimes the people you don’t expect to be interested in your products end up loving them, so don’t leave anyone out when you’re greeting people.

We’ve done three events total now, and one thing we’ve noticed is that there will be slow periods and then all of a sudden, everyone will be swarming your tent at once. So if you’re experiencing a lag in customers coming up to your store front towards the beginning of an event, don’t call it quits just yet!

Tilteed

In conclusion, our first Last Thursday definitely blew my expectations away! It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that you’re sharing artwork by some of the most amazing illustrators and designers from around the world with people who may not otherwise see these works. This is one of the reasons why I love graphic t-shirts as much as I do. You get to be a walking canvas every single day if you choose to.

Tilteed

We’re actually going to be at the Hawthorne Street Fair this upcoming Sunday (August 15). You should come and hang out if you’re in the Portland area! For more information, check out Think Hawthorne and click on “Happenings.” Hopefully I’ll get to see some of you!

Celebrate Outcast Day at The Hipstery

It’s Outcast Day at Hipstery today! OK, so you might be asking yourself, 1. What is Hipstery, and 2. What the heck is Outcast Day? Hipstery, if you haven’t already heard is one of the coolest T-Shirt sites in InternetLAND. Here’s the premise: you tell them your T-Shirt size, they ask you a few questions and then they ship off a T-Shirt to you that they think you’ll love! You don’t actually see the shirt until you receive it in the mail. Pretty neat, don’t you think?

So, I decided to give Hipstery a shot today, considering today is Outcast Day. What’s Outcast Day you ask?

“We work hard to pick only winners in the shirts we select for the Hipstery. When we do fail, like all good humans we like to sweep that failure under the rug. Unfortunately we have no rug, and sweeping rejected shirts under a rug constitutes a tripping hazard. So instead we have a corner of the office affectionately known as “Outcast Corner”, home of the loser shirts. Why are they loser shirts? Well usually its you that decides they are, most of the time we still like them, but we can’t always be right and so if a shirt gets returned twice, all matching t-shirts get yanked over to Outcast corner.”

Here’s the deal, on Outcast Day, you go ahead and order a Hipstery tee and they will ship it to your for free, you just pay for the shipping. They are based in Germany, so if you’re ordering from the US, expect to pay about $9, that’s what I paid to have it shipped to beautiful Hawaii. If you live in Europe, expect to pay significantly less. All they ask, and this is the “experiment” part, is that once you receive your shirt and you’ve reviewed it, you “donate” whatever amount you think that the shirt is worth, from €0.01 up to the usual €17, back to Hipstery.

So, go give Hipstery a try – Outcast Day is the perfect time to do just that! Use the code “iloveoutcasts” to take advantage of this deal.

I’m not going to spoil the entire experience for you, but, here are a few screenshots from my Hipstery ordering experience. They asked me 6 questions (some bizarre and some related to fashion). At the end of the day, Hipstery is one fun service!

Massive 9/9/9 $9 Sale at Threadless + Prophecies

Warning: There’s a MASSIVE sale going on right now at Threadless in celebration of the momentous 9/9/9 date. Right now, all tees are on sale for just $9! Let the craziness ensue…

Threadless 9/9/9 Sale

Courtesy of Revelation13.net:

Sept. 9, 2009. 9/9/09 (999). 666 upside-down, possibly a significant date? Note that 666 is the number of the evil Antichrist, the Beast of Revelation 13. Also, the world population officially reaches 6.8 billion near November 2009, and Revelation 6:8 is about the Fourth Horseman, Death, so will Death ride then? Could this be a mutation in swine flu H1N1 making it a deadly worldwide plague? Note that “nein” in German means “no”, so 9-9-9 could mean “no-no-no”. Possible significance of 9-9-9: note that the CERN Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator in France is to be turned on around Nov. 2009. It was initially turned on in Sept. 2008, but only ran about a week before needing major repairs and being shut down until 2009. And on Sept. 10, 2008, the CERN LHC Particle Accelerator was initially turned on. Also note that after the CERN LHC was intially turned on in Sept. 2008, a world-wide economic crash began. Could the LHC create a Black Hole that destroys the earth in December 2012? See my page on Nostradamus, where Nostradamus 9 44 is an amazing prophecy that may predict a Black Hole could be created in the future by LHC, and see this King James version English Bible Code page on it, and my video on it.

Because of equipment problems, the CERN LHC particle accelerator/Black Hole Machine (and some have said possible Doomsday Machine) was shut down for months, supposedly until around November 2009. Perhaps a safety review is needed? Seems like kind of a long shutdown for equipment problems. I read that, as well as equipment problems in the LHC that need repair, there also was a transformer damaged by lightning (could that be a sign of divine intervention trying to stop the LHC from becoming a Doomsday Black Hole machine?) Being on for 1 week and then shut down for months makes one wonder if this LHC machine could have design problems?

How many of you believe in all of this prophecy stuff? I don’t, but it sure is fun to think about!
