Moonbase Commander

I’ve been a fan of The Dept. and their sci-fi-ish tees for a while now. And so I was excited when they released three new tees a few days back. The Android character might not be present in any of these new shirts but they still do retain the futuristic vibe. Clean line art and brash colors along with text worthy of being on any promotional science fiction movie poster have always defined the shirts over at The Dept. And these three new tees don’t deviate much from that winning formula.

The new shirts featured below can be purchased from The Dept. for $22 a piece.

Water the Summer Sky

What happens when you mix a water sprinkler with outer space? Well, you get Water The Summer Sky from ReThink Clothing. How many of you used to run through the sprinklers as a kid? I remembering doing that whenever we’d set up the huge blow up pool in the yard and I’d always have a blast. The only thing better? Skinny dipping under the moon in the pacific ocean (not that I have any experience doing this). Anyway, another great shirt designed by Zach Davenport, the same artist that designed Weather Wiper and Meteor Shower for ReThink Clothing.

Water The Summer Sky is printed on an American Apparel blank in both silver and mint colorways and is available for sale now for $18.99 but remember to use the code “COTY” at checkout and you can save 20% on your entire order!

Rocket Man by Soul Fur

This is an odd little tee from Phoenix, Arizona based Soul Fur Clothing. It looks almost as if it could be a doodle straight out some kids high school science notebook. I dig it. The shirt is named Rocket Man but I can’t really make out whether or not that is a monkey, cat or zombie in the astronaut helmet. Whatever it is, it looks damn scared to be in space.

Rocket Man comes printed on a 100% preshrunk cotton tee and is available now for the very affordable price of $10 at the Soul Fur online store.

Rocket Science

Okay, I’ve said in the past that I am a hug fan of Glenn Jones but the only tees that I own of his are those that were available at Threadless. I think Rocket Science is the breaking point for me. I need this shirt. It’s filled with all kinds of amazingness that I must have it. Glenn, how do you do it? How do you come up with these genius ideas? I want your frontal lobe.

Rocket Science is printed on a black American Apparel blank and is available now from Glennz Tees for $19.95.

Coty Loves Threadless #25 – The Cosmonaut!

Holy kabonkers, I haven’t done one of these in what seems like forever. A vacation will do that! Luckily, I’m back and that means fresh episodes of Coty Loves Threadless for your viewing pleasure! This episode is a woozy so be sure to watch it. My Threadless Pick of the Week is The Homesick Cosmonaut by Jesse Lefkowitz because it features one lanky astronaut in outer space and he misses home!

Meteor Shower by ReThink Clothing

Meteor Shower is the newest shirt from the brand designed solely by college students, ReThink Clothing. “Outer space has and always will be fascinating and full of mystery. With the discovery of dark matter, black holes, new galaxies and a ton of cool stuff these mysteries are unraveled. This shirt might also help unravel one more mystery, how astronauts (maybe some cosmonauts) stay clean in the final frontier.”

I should also note that this marks the first shirt from ReThink Clothing that features a printed inside neck label. The shirt comes in two colorways, purple and heather gray and is printed on an American Apparel blank. Both colorways are available now for $19.99 but you can save an additional 20% by using the coupon code “COTY” at checkout and you can save even more if you use the coupon code “BACK” by August 24!

I really like the design of this particular shirt and prefer the purple colorway over the heather version. And I am super stoked that ReThink switched to tagless shirts and preferring to screenprint the neck label. Now, if only I could take a meteor shower for real. If you had the opportunity to fly out into space, would you go?

New Tees From Validus Apparel

Validus Apparel recently released their newest tees and I’m shocked it took me this long to find out! Shocked because they are hot! Each of the three new tees are printed on American Apparel blanks and are available for $18. My favorite has got to be Dismembered Bird, I simply love the concept and the colors work so well with one another. Ironically, you can find the dismembered head from the Dismembered Bird tee on the other new shirt, Fresh Collage. I love it!

The 8-Bit Invasion

Check out the first $500 contest winner from Tilteed, it’s called The 8-Bit Invasion and it’s by T-Shirt designer and contest site regular, radiomode. This is an awesome shirt, in my opinion and should go down well with geeks both young and old! It’s got that classic movie poster feel – instant classic! You can pick up this tee for cheaper than the $12 pre-order price if you use the coupon code “TiltCoty” at checkout, that will bring the price down to $10. What a steal!

Race Advantage by Glennz Tees

The newest tee from one of my favorite indie tee designers was released with perfect timing. Man on a racing bicycle and decked out in a yellow suit. I wonder who that guy is? It’s obviously Lance Armstrong, who, incidentally is back and racing (as I type) in the Tour de France. He’s currently in third place, which is an astonishing feat in itself since he’s been away from the sport for more than 3 years! Maybe a finger pointing extraterristial is what needs to give him that extra boost! Race Advantage is available now from Glennz Tees and costs just $19.95.

Catstronaughts

This shirt by MasterControl excels on so many different levels! Cats have been getting an extraordinary amount of attention as of late, especially with the popularity of sites such as ICanHasCheezBurger. I’ve mentioned on the site before that I am not the biggest cat fan, but, this shirt is kickass because of the cats! Interestingly enough, MasterControl mentioned that this was originally submitted to Threadless but did not earn a print. I’m glad that this got a second chance at Design By Humans. You can pick it up from DBH for $25.
